PADUCAH - Three local women are enjoying the spotlight after sets a world record for selling lemonade.

Amanda Frye, Phoebe Cartwright and Melissa Capshaw are students at Mayfield Community College, and last weekend the enterprising young women set up a lemonade stand in downtown Paducah to help raise money for their college tuition.
After just 48 hours, these savvy entrepreneurs managed to rake in a staggering $10,000 selling lemonade.

"We were super busy," says Capshaw. "We had a lot of customers, especially guys. The men here in Paducah are very friendly. They bought a lot of lemonade, and some of the men even offered to pay for our college. Men can be so sweet!"

While the college girls enjoy their newfound fortune, it's safe to say that the lemonade industry will never be the same. "College is expensive," adds Capshaw. "It's nice to know that if we run low on money we can just sell lemonade again!"

This is a developing story.

José Alfredo llamó a su amiga Chavela Vargas para decirle que la estaba esperando en el Tenampa en Garibaldi, para que lo acompañara a correrse su última juerga.

Ahí en una mesa del Tenampa acompañados también de su amigo Tomás Méndez autor de Cucurrucucú Paloma, tomaron el mejor tequila que tenían en la cantina rodeados de mariachis, cantaron todas sus canciones durante tres días y tres noches.

Después, tambaleándose, salió José Alfredo del Tenampa deteniéndose en la puerta para ver por última vez, su lugar favorito.

Después de una larga agonía a consecuencia de la cirrosis, llegó la parca el 23 de noviembre de 1973, lo tomó de la mano y se lo llevó.
