Well HELLO 2025! It’s time to get back to what we do best! Starting the year off with a double wedding weekend and we are stoked! The “break” from events this past 2 months have been sweet and much needed but your babes of De Bloem are hitting the ground running! We can’t wait to share our 2025 couples with you and all the chaos of designing events. We hope you stick around for our random videos, our bickering (Nevaeh & Arwen) and beautiful designs.

This lovely couple had the most gorgeous blue sky day at Monserate Winery. We designed a swooping ground arch giving all the focus to the bride and groom. The genuine joy in this couples faces makes me swoon!

Last night I listened to a playlist I hadn’t listen to in years and it put me in the front seat of the Time Machine. 2005 was the first time I had ever lost someone so influential in my life. My Oma Poortman. (Mom’s mother) she was impactful in so many peoples lives, but for me, she was a hero. A strong, brave woman. Someone whose story includes years of imprisonment in a concentration camp in Indonesia, pushed out of her homeland, was a minority in Holland, and then immigrated to the USA. When she passed, my brother made a picture montage and one of the songs was the one I linked to this post. “Go Do”. It’s funny how much I live by these two words which I now realize, my Oma was a big reason I just “go do”. She was a doer, and laziness was not in her vocabulary. I owe a lot to her and how I continue to work hard and constantly reach for more.

I started De Bloem Co shortly after we lost my mom in 2019. I had flowered for years leading up to opening the business, so it was time. And we’ve never looked back.

Are you blazing your own trail but feel like you have no idea what you’re doing? Whether it’s a business, hobby, project…. Just “GO DO!” Fail, trip and fall, but get back up and find other ways to get to that goal. Don’t worry about what “they” will think. They ain’t paying your bills 😜

Alright guys…. Saved the best for last.

Meet Chris Ford.

Hold on to your butts cause this will be a good long read.

All I have to say is IYKYK.

This man is literally the back bone of not only De Bloem Co, but also our family. He is the reason I made the decision to go into business for myself. I flowered for many years before I started De Bloem Co, and I never wanted to be responsible for a business. He promised me we’d do this together and he is a man of his word. He handles all the paper work, banking, tax’s, payroll, insurance, budgeting and everything else that I hate doing. On his off days, if we have a wedding, he’s right there with us.

He asked me to marry him when we were just 17. When this guy says he’s going to do something, he does it 150%. He’s been the fighting force, the protector, the leader and the lover of our family. Adored by his daughters, admired by his son.

Joined the airforce at 18 and became a firefighter. Came home from the fire academy and married me in a court house. In secret. Just us two. Now he’s looking towards retiring as a Captain and 33 years total in the fire service.

He’s excited to be 100% present in our business, but he will definitely be missing being on a rig when that time comes. So you will be seeing him shleping buckets, driving box trucks, building structures, and hanging smilax while looking extra sexy with that mustache. He smells good too. Lol

I really would not have been able to grow De Bloem Co without him. Hes allowed me to solely focus on connecting with clients, and being in my creative space. So give a “what’s up bro!” And a high five when you see him. 🙂 He deserves all the praise!

Amazing week designing at the Summit for .co in Palm Springs 😍

I had the privilege to design this table for on her Birthday week! I wasn’t too familiar with Hayley and her story but when I was asked to do this, I dove deep into learning what she was about. It was easy to come up with this look, with the help of for a soft and dainty, but full of life table after researching Haley, her climb to success with her bridal gowns and galloping into shoe and accessory designs.

The whole experience was eye opening. The rush to get these designs out was fun but challenging! But we welcome that! You don’t get anywhere without the hustle… and we hustled!!

One of many favorite moments on a wedding day is this.

Sound on to hear the most beautiful voice. JaeCe gives off this quiet strength until you hear her sing. And there’s nothing quiet about it. It was a pleasure being involved in JaeCe and Payton’s love story. They both looked picture perfect. They married on JaeCe’s family farm on the most perfect day in Fallbrook. The word here is “perfect”.

Hi! It’s me, Jac! I guess it’s my turn to re-introduce myself. I started De Bloem Co in 2020 (I know. Horrible year but we made it through) after the loss of my amazing momma. It was a passion project and it kept me busy through my grief.

De Bloem Co means “the flower co” in Dutch. I am half Dutch, half Indonesian and I grew up in the most amazing family who taught me all about the Dutch Indo culture and the importance of love, responsibility, work ethic and and being thankful for what you have.

My husband and I are high school babes and we tag team this business together. I couldn’t do it without him. I may be the front man here but he handles the business side of things that actually allows me to be creative as well as a full time position as a Fire Captain for Camp Pendleton Fire Department.

I love what I do, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. It’s all hard work but it never feels like a “job”. The people I meet, the clients I be-friend, it’s all for a purpose. The ability to be creative is such a stress release, and I am hungry for each new thing that comes my way! I hope to continue to meet new people that can add to my life as I hope to do the same to others!

On another episode of “meet the team…

Say hi to Arwen! She’s been with me almost as long as Nevaeh! Side note, Ney and Arwen are BFf’s. Arwen is like another daughter to me. So it was a very natural thing for her to jump in and help me when I had some of my first weddings. She was hungry to learn how to design and picked it up very quick! She’s the best DJ when we are designing and her attention to detail is impeccable!

Yes we are having a baby!!! We are so excited to have this little De Bloem bundle on some of our jobs. Arwen is the type that will tie that baby to her and keep hustling. So look out for some cute baby videos in the future. But besides how cute and adorable this one is pregnant, Arwen has an effect on others in a way that calms them, and she makes them feel so loved. She’s a protector and will care for you in ways a mother would. Her heart is big and warm and I couldn’t imagine flowering without her.

Hi everyone! It’s been a very busy season for us but I thought it’s time for a break and do a little “get to know us” blurb!

Say hi to Nevaeh! You’ll find this one with her headphones on meticulously placing your centerpieces and candles to perfection or doing little dances as she’s popping in tall larkspur in your meadow aisle design. She’s been with me for 5 years, started from the bottom (sweeping up after me, organizing my mess and cleaning buckets) to being a lead designer. She started her own floral design business called and is thriving with her own clients on the side!

Nevaeh is also a dance teacher at . She was taught in classical Ballet/lyrical/contemporary/hip hop and trained full time throughout her jr high and high school years. She now specializes and teaches hip hop, lyrical and contemporary. You can find her dancing .e.ford.choreo 😜

Nevaeh is an angel and the most sweetest, kindest person you’ll ever meet. She will have your back whether you are a friend or client. She’s wise beyond her age and a great listener. She’s also my daughter (middle child) and I couldn’t be more blessed to be able to share this life not only as a mom with her but also a creative. I can’t wait to see all she does in life! Say hi and give her a follow and watch all that she does!!!

This one’s for the boys. I think we can all agree that the groom doesn’t get nearly enough attention as the bride. The dress, the hair, the makeup, the bouquet…….. grooms have the privilege of relaxing most of the day till he needs to run his fingers through his hair and put on a suit. (How truely lucky)
But this groom right here definitely stole the show. His smile was electric. He had the sweetest reaction to his beautiful bride ALL DAY and NIGHT long! I will never forget this one.

This brides personality out colored the florals. ❤️

Light an airy with a touch of sexiness. The dark mauves and browns we popped in with some funky texture gave this design that edgy-ness I was looking for. The ceremony was sweet and light with bouncy blooms but we wanted the reception to be fun and a bit of a night club feel but still romantic and elegant.

Macy and Zach’s wedding was at the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe. A beautiful historical location. The jasmine was over growing and the trees on the property were tall and lush with twisted branches giving so much shade.

We played off of all the colors and textures of the space as Macy really wanted something warm, muted and timeless. I really loved this space and the colors Macy chose, it all came together beautifully.
