The event is hosted by one of the Mushkegowuk Council First Nations www.mushkegowuk.ca each year. Creefest was born from that tradition.

Creefest is a yearly Mushhkegowuk Council festival bringing together music, workshops, concerts, cultural activities, games for all age groups, food/craft vendors, and a Powwow. The host community decides what to include in the Creefest schedule. This year, it is hosted by Taykwa Tagamou Nation, just minutes from Cochrane, ON. Greg Spence, Festival Advisor says about the festival, “Creefest has al
ways been about bringing people together like in our traditions,” Families in the James Bay area would spend the winter months in their traplines and once summer came, everyone would emerge and congregate out near the bay to celebrate and reconnect with one another. Join us July 23, 24, 25 as Creefest 2024 comes into our territory. The event will be held in a central location, the Tim Hortons Event Centre. Creefest is an alcohol and drug free event. Everyone is welcome to attend.

If you are currently on the ice pad, the ice pad will be cleared of everyone at 4:45. Access to the ice pad and bleachers will be at 5 PM for wristband holders only- security will be present to check for a wristband.

Medicine Pouch Workshop rescheduled from this morning will be held on Thursday, July 25 from 9am to 12pm. The workshop is held at the back of the arena. Maximum number of partcipants is 15. All you need to do is show up until the max is filled.

Tamarack Geese and Woodcarving workshops will start 1:30pm and end 4:30pm today (Tuesday). The first 15 to show up at each workshop can participate. The workshop canopies are located at the back of the arena.
Please only park in the front and by the pow wow grounds. If you are parked in the back, please move your car ASAP. We will be blocking off the back parking lot shortly.
There’s lots of vendors setup all around the arena! Don’t forget to check our vendors setup at the back entrance by the workshop tents, food & artisan vendors by the front entrance and vendors all throughout the lobby and arena pad. ✨ Happy CreeFest yall!
