HOW TO DETERMINE “PLUS ONES”
Our rule of thumb is that the wedding guest and his/her “plus one” should be in a committed relationship. This helps you to make consistent choices, and remove the subjectivity out of your “plus one” decisions. Here are some scenarios.
✅Married. This one may be obvious but know that we encourage our couples to extend a “plus one” invitation to a married couple even if the bride or groom haven’t met the spouse yet.
✅ Engaged. Treat engaged couples in the same manner that you treat married couples.
✅ Couples in Long Term Relationships. Remember Pippa Middleton’s “No Ring, No Bring” policy? This may not be the best answer if many of your loved ones are in long-term committed relationships, and they have no intention of ever getting married. So, how do you determine if the “long-term” relationship is worthy of the “plus one” rule? Our rule of thumb is that the couple should be in a relationship at least a year or they are living together. Either way, the final decision is up to you — Whatever you decide, just try to be consistent.
✅ Wedding Party. If your bridesmaid shelled out major dollars for your bridal shower, your bachelorette party, her hotel room, and her bridesmaid gown, then you should consider allowing her to bring a date to your wedding. It’s a gesture that will go a long way.

Sometimes, couples forget to include the moments that seem minor on their wedding timeline. HERE IS THE KEY — Tell the person in charge of your timeline everything! Because it’s typically those forgotten moments that can jam up your wedding day schedule. Three examples of those forgotten moments include 1.) robe/pajama photos; 2.) the time needed to bustle a wedding gown; 3.) time needed for each of your toasts; and 4.) the time needed to move guests from one spot to another. 🦉♥️

We love creating great experiences for our couples. So when our couple asked to add a cigar roller to their wedding reception, we took it a step further and created a cigar lounge with a vibe that was perfect for a classic, dapper gentleman (of course, the ladies were invited). The room was enveloped in black velvet with a touches of red throughout it to celebrate the groom’s fraternity. The guests enjoyed both a whiskey bar and a cigar roller. And fortunately, there was a balcony connected to the room so the guests could enjoy their cigars without affecting the nonsmoking guests. 🚬Photography: Love Life Images I Planning+Design: Howerton+Wooten Events I Cigar Roller: Cortez Cigars Drapery: Fabrication Events I Monogram and Matchbooks: Lepenn Designs - Couture Invitations & Stationery I Venue: Sagamore Pendry Baltimore #weddingideas #baltimorewedding #howertonwooten #hwevents #loveandsoulalways #cigarlounge
Are you planning to have an aisle runner at your wedding ceremony, but you don't know how long it should be? Keep this formula In mind -- Add three (3) feet to the aisle runner for every row of chiavari chairs or folding chairs you intend to have. So, if you have five rows of chiavari chairs, there should be 15 feet of aisle runner. If you are going to be in a church for your ceremony, calculate 3½ to 4 feet for each row of church pews. Add 5 feet or so if you want the aisle runner to reach where the couple is standing. And, add another 5 to 10 feet If you want the aisle runner to begin in church vestibule.

There are three (3) things brides should have in their wedding day emergency kit to help them with attire mishaps. 1.) Chalk. If your get a smudge on your dress, a little chalk (just a little) will help to remove an onsite stain. 2.) A package of “Wine Not” if you get dribbles of red wine on your dress. And 3.) a crochet hook to help you get the loops on your wedding dress buttons. 🦉💕
