Hi there! I’m Lauren Stovall, the owner and founder of Wither and Bloom Designs. I am so glad you’re here!
I want to tell you a little about my journey with flowers and how Wither and Bloom Designs was born.
From a very young age, I was captivated and inspired by the beauty and intricacy of flowers. My first memory as a child was actually of flowers. I was four years old and my mom was driving me to school when we passed a sea of red poppies growing beside the road. I yelled for her to stop so that I could pick some for my teacher and can still remember that feeling of excitement seeing all of those flowers growing in such a mundane place. The significance of that memory didn’t surface until a season of my life when I lived in Manhattan. I started to realize that I was truly drawn to flowers in a wonderful and at times spiritual way. My time living in New York opened my eyes to a creative and diverse world. I would visit the New York flower market for inspiration or stop by a corner bodega where buckets of lilacs and tulips sat unaware of the peace they brought me amongst the chaos of the city. It was during this time when I was creating floral arrangements for a friend’s art show or talking tirelessly over coffee about my desire to help others connect with flowers that I realized I wanted to design for my career. I eventually moved back to Tennessee where I continued designing flowers alongside finishing school and practicing as a social worker but could not deny my true passion to pursue a career in flowers.
