The Songwriters Collective is run by singer songwriter Jess Hieser, who books regular gigs, including all day stages at festivals, particularly, St Kilda festival annually since 2008. Each gig aims to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for artists and audience alike. All paid show donate 10% or more to a non-profit org, with an emphasis on awareness of social issues. Mainly they are brilliant musicians whose unique expression captivates and inspired audiences. Organiser Jess Hieser also offers vocal and songwriting coaching to aspiring musicians; in many cases these budding new singers and songwriters can then make their debut with the Songwriters Collective. Many Songwriters Collective shows feature emerging artists with a unique talent and provides a forum for them to adjust to live performance.
