Three years ago I was in the hospital due to pre-eclampsia. I had a natural water birth plan and refused to give it up. I labored naturally for 5 days and on November 4th, I was rushed into an emergency caesarean section. It was the scariest moment of my life. I didn’t care about me or my wellbeing. All I could think about was my baby.
At 5:47am, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. You see, you can plan something for months, but when the time comes, you’re actually on your baby’s plan. And what’s funny is, nothing else even matters, except that little human that came out of your body. The world stops for that little human. That’s motherhood.
3 years later and we are still on Deucey’s time. To my sweet, handsome little boy who will gladly tell you “no” when he’s not feeling it. To my football, basketball, baseball, and soccer lover. To my baby who takes all of the spoons out of my kitchen drawers. To the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Mommy loves you so much and I will spend the rest of my life keeping that contagious smile on your face. Happy Birthday Justin Staples II! We love you! 🎉🎂
