The Carbonear Open Wrestling Tournament will be happening this coming Saturday, April 29th!
It will take place at Carbonear Collegiate and will start at 10am!
This is open to wrestling athletes of all experience levels and ages.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jordan Pitcher. He will be remembered as a very kind person, an excellent athlete and a outstanding young man. Our heart felt condolences go out to his family, friends and everyone with the Trinity Bay Wrestling Club who was fortunate enough to know him.

We are offering a zoom session detailing "A Day at the Games" tonight, Monday, July 11th @ 7 pm.
“A Day at the Games” will provide key information to participants and their families to gain an understanding of what it is like to be a part of our Team NL contingent. We will discuss a typical day at the Games as well as services available to the athletes. Canada Games is a unique experience and this information will allow our athletes to be best prepared when we land in Niagara Falls.

Welcome to another edition of for
Today's mission staff member representing wrestling in Week 1 is... Bob Godden!
Bob has 5 years of games experience and has attended as a coach, an official, and as a VIP in Prep for hosting National Championships in Gymnastics 1983!
Bob is yet another one of our mission staff members who have attended as both a coach and an official ; huge thanks to everyone who gives back in sport, no matter what your role is while participating!
Bob is still involved in Gymnastics as an admin, he also enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking and is an active member at GoodLife Fitness (and he has the Strava posts to prove it!)
He's excited to help Team NL in whatever capacity, and helping them be the best they can be. His favourite snack food is trail mix or granola, so be sure to find Bob during Week 1 and find out what the optimal ingredients of his trail mix actually is.
Fun Fact, Bob has an identical twin brother who will be attending, so make sure you're getting the trail mix info from the right Godden!

We have a Heavyweight sized Thank You for coach Erik Joy who ran a aweome training camp in Whitbourn last Saturday! Lots of techniques were taught and everyone enjoyed being on the mats!

This week we will be having an Open Technique Clinic and Training Camp. We are very fortunate to have these events run by Ahmed Shamiya (McMaster University Head Coach and Team Canada Athlete) and Peter Shirley (Senior Varsity McMaster Wrestler and 2022 OUA Champ and Male MVP).
Technique Clinic:
Thursday, April 7th, 8:45pm - 10pm,
Power Plex, ST. JOHNS, NL.
Training Camp:
Saturday, April 9th, 10am - 5pm,
Whitbourn Elementary, WHITBOURN, NL.
Both of these sessions are free of charge and open to anyone. Any athletes that intend to compete at the 2022 Canada Games are strongly urged to attend.
