the sunsets on kiawah are phenomenal, especially at mingo point — one of our favorite lowcountry venues! beautiful scenery, built-in rain plan and covered spaces, waterfront views, plenty of parking, in-house food & bev… what’s not to love?! excited to share more of + Billie’s special wedding day soon!

we’re back at and today to celebrate another LOVELY couple… if you haven’t had the chance to attend an event inside this hidden gem, steal an invite! we love the historic charm that this venue boasts — curved doorways to original brick to wooden beams!
being here takes us back to and jason’s beauitful summertime wedding reception, where they display guest seating assignments on a piece of artwork! small, yet thoughtful touches, such as this one REALLY lend themselves to a personalized event. so happy to have had capture their special day! 🥂

in random day-to-day conversations or during an interview, wedding planners get asked: what’s your favorite part of the wedding day? and, more often than not the answer is either “prepping the bride for her walk down the aisle” or “reception reveals with the couple” — but not for us! our answer is simple.
for our team, our favorite part(s) of the wedding day are the quiet moments. the { behind the scenes } unseen kind of moments. the moments when the sunlight kisses a window pane JUST RIGHT in passing. the moments that are occasionally captured on film for memories sake, but sometimes overlooked. the small, understated tid bits that reflect all the little details we thought about ahead of time. 🤍

seeing the impacts of tropical storm debbie on the lowcountry displays what hurricane season can bring to the private events and weddings during a MINOR storm season — from cloudy ( but clear ) skies that provide beautiful images to torrential, unannounced downpours that flood roadways and soak the earth to its core.
this is why it’s important to TRUST your planner and hire a professional that will advise you to purchase event insurance. protecting your investment is key! often times, we’re lucky ( like this late summer wedding for + ) when we slide through an event with minor bumps and bruises… or very, very soaked shoes. right, ?! 🫣

did anyone else feel like this past weekend just FLEW by?! we literally blinked and then it was monday morning again — crazy how the summer months seem shorter and shorter the older we get. but, what better way to unwind on monday than with a martini?! 😉

sometimes people think that simple designs mean the client ( or the planner ) didn’t have the ability to create a busy board masterpiece. but spaces need to breathe! we loved designing FOUR separate spaces for clay & kelsey’s wedding day — each unique in their own right; each serving their own purpose; each complimenting the natural, outdoor space they were set in.
for these clients, creating an atmosphere that encouraged dancing and socializing was key! busy tables ( with full place settings ) or an overcrowded layout would have ruined their vision. instead, we made INTENTIONAL choices that complimented the natural space like a specialty linen pattern, colored pillar candles, and cushioned seating for those tired feet!

Our Story

Invitation Only is a boutique wedding planning firm based in Summerville, South Carolina, and conveniently located near Charleston. We have been creating stylish and memorable weddings since 2013, specializing in both full-service and partial-service wedding planning. We provide month-of coordination for those who wish to plan their own wedding, but need some guidance in the month prior. In 2018, we reinstated our day-of coordination package for select Lowcountry venues! Although our specialty surrounds wedding-related services, we are also experienced in corporate event management and private parties. Utilizing our network of talented Lowcountry vendors, Invitation Only can bring together the specific, unique details of your event to ensure that everyone has an unforgettable experience!
