A lovely pair of locals twisted my arm to take the van out for the last time to cater for her 70th birthday .

I’m so glad I did. We met the beautiful hosts and partied with their beautiful friends on the waterfront of the bribie passage in the light of the bonfire and live band.

My ideas for future feeding is possibly looking into intimate long table lunches or dinners from 10-20 guests on my private property. Alternatively possibly cooking classes on the island. So after sitting still on bribie rd today for 2 hours I cracked the s@ and went home so I didn’t make it to the brewery. Sorry guys ☹️

Next Saturday we will be serving at Donnybrook sports club from 530pm.

It’s very sad to say that this will be my last pop up indefinitely so this old girl can give her body a rest, focus on uni and work in the non for profit sector. I can’t believe how physically demanding the van life and cooking is however I can honestly say I’ve loved every single minute of the absolute chaos and have made some amazing friends over almost 4 years.

I’m not sure how long I can stay away from feeding people as it brings me so much joy and is my outlet from my work so continue to watch this space as I have many ideas up my sleeve for the bribie locals.

Day 9 in bed with a bad case of influenza. Never estimate the power of chicken soup dropped off by my good friend. It’s penicillin, fresh sheets, hot bath, pooch snuggles, old port, silk pjs, a Michelin star, complete mind and body nourishment and a big warm hug of friendship in a bowl. Its certainly a magical thing. I’d you learn how to cook one thing let this be it. You could heal the world.

Who’s up for fresh healthy poke rice bowls this week?

I’m thinking of heading to the seafood market for fresh sashimi grade tuna. I’ll also do teriyaki salmon/beef for the not so adventurous.

I’m used to getting asked a million questions each week as I change my menu every service and I’m more than happy to educate my customers on the fabulous ingredients used in Asian cuisine and the House of Jade spin I put on authentic dishes.
This Friday we are channeling Vietnam. Bowls of rice noodles topped with an array of flavours and colours, pour over my house made nuoc cham dressing and swirl to create a flavour packed healthy fresh dinner which is dairy and gluten free!! 3 days of pork belly prep in action

This relentless heat has got me feeling Vietnamese vermicelli noodle bowls. Super light and refreshing with herbs, lemongrass pork or beef, cucumber, pickled veg and our own nuoc cham dressing to stir through. It’s a hot/cold dish full of sweet, salty, sour and spicy flavours.
