The Asheville House Music Society (AVLHMS) was created by Netmix.com founder and DJ, Tony Zeoli, to support the house music scene in the beautiful mountain city of Asheville, NC. While there is a focus on electric dance music in the form of Techno, Progressive House, Breaks, Tech House , Melodic House, and Drum n Bass, given the rise in popularity of electronic music over the past so many years, i
t has taken some attention away from the roots of house music. Our mission is to spotlight the events, DJs, producers, clubs and fans developing and supporting the root organic and classic sounds of house music here in Asheville. This includes House, Afro House, Afro / Brazilian / Latin House, Tribal House, Soulful, House, Deep House, US/UK Garage, Nu Disco, and Amapiano. While we love other genres and participate independently in those as well, it's important to have a focus, a portal, and a window into house music culture, so that others who travel through or reside here can find out about the events, parties and music that appeals to them. When founder Tony Zeoli moved here, there were no blogs or social media that focused strictly on house music, a genre that is a global phenomenon but has limited local attention. His goal was to keep us house and reach within 6 hours of AVL including Charlotte, Columbia SC, Greenville SC, RDU/Chapel Hill, Charleston SC, Knoxville TN, Johnson City TN, and Atlanta.
