As you can see, only 20 points separating our top 7 teams tonight - that the equivalent of less than two questions in the final round! Strong quizzing. 'We Can See Christmas Now'🥇returned to winning ways with 'Dr Blue & the Shaven Ravens'🥈just 6 points behind. 'Knights of the Round Table'🥉were just one point behind in third and 'Jess Glynn & Co'🏅completing the prize positions AND scooping the cash prize in bingo. Back next Sunday at 3pm for the Christmas edition.

"Jess Glynne & Co."🥇finally got their first win after pushing hard and having a couple of third place finishes in recent weeks. Last week's winners "No Clue"🥈take the runners-up spot with "We Can See Clearly Now"🥉third & "ShuttleC***S"🏅stealing fourth by virtue of the final 30-pointer question. "We Can See Clearly Now" were also a microsecond faster than "Com4tably Dumb" in checking out their last number in bingo & so also take £52 from the cash pot.

The Wyld Christmas TV & music quiz was a hoot. The most successful teams could tell their Marys from their Hollys & Josephs from their Jesus'. One team knew how long "I Will Always Love You" was at number 1 & one team had the insight to know the QI Christmas Specials could be ordered very easily chronologically as each season's episode titles follow the letters of the alphabet in sequence! Surprisingly few teams considered King Charles's first Christmas address drew more viewers than Strictly Come Dancing on Christmas day!! Barely a cigarette paper between our teams tonight, but a winning and welcome return for "the early cummers". Any of the teams second to fifth could have finished in a prize position with one question to go, but "I Can See Clearly Now" got closest to how many female billionaires there are in the world, scored 30 points and leapfrogged "The Lone Ranger" into second.

Unlike some other local "roll-over's" our quiz nights see a partial payout EVERY week. We had a £99 jackpot this week and second placed "Quiz All Over My Face" won £82 of that. That's the third time in 4 weeks a team has won OVER £80. They also took away £10 of bar tabs for coming second🥈in the quiz AND another £5 bar tab for getting the nearest in our nearest-the-bull final question. "We Can See Clearly Now"🥇cruised to victory tonight, with "No Clue"🥉taking a £5 bar tab for third. "Shuttle C***s" completed the top 4.

👻One of my old pub quiz team mates made a winning return to The Hogshead "Her yn gyffresinol"🥇(don't ask me!) were in a two way fight for the victory with the last question to go. First-times "Fearsome Crew"🥈started slowly (and late!) but improved with every round and walked away with £10 of bar tabs & £87 cash from the bingo!💲"Hubble Bubble Toil & Trouble"🥉& "No Clue" flirted with top spot & end in the prize positions also. "Izzy Whizzy" ensured the 30 pointer didn't upset the final positions, taking a £5 bar tab for getting nearest to the the number of people dressed as witches in the record breaking Pendle Hill gathering.🧙‍♀️

Going into the final question it was a two way fight between "We can SPOOK clearly now"🥇, winning the Halloween tria & music rounds, & "Quizzy Rasghouls"🥈who'd won the Halloween observation, movies & TV rounds. In the end, the positions remained unchained with "Creeping It Real" just 1 closer than "Quizzy Rasgouls" to the question "How many times is the word Heart sung in the music video to "Heart" by PSB. In third, "Quiztopher"🥉were good for their third place finish with "Freddie Pooger"🏅beginning to fade as the drink kicked in! Every team ended with a prize and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Decemper 20th.

A long awaited win for "Izzy Whizzy...."🥇this week. A well negotiated wheel round and then holding their nerve on the picture round run-in. Conversely, a poor decision on the wheel from "C***s with Paul"🥉, who were nailed on for top spot before they swapped their second position for fourth place!! In doing to they gifted second place to "The Myth The Man etc"🥈. It always pays to pay attention to who's where 😲

No Fast-Tracks were gained during the evil round so, following a mini theme round identifying books from their covers, it was a three way battle for the top on the final 30-pointer. It turned out to be last week's winners "Shuttle C***S" who cemented their fourth place and so the final standing went unchanged. Congratulations to "Sandy Demons"🥇returning after a couple of weeks away to take the victory. £30 cash was won by "The Myth, The Gruffalo & Added Extras"💲. The rest of the pot rolls over to next week.

(Somewhat disappointingly 😉) "Let's Get Quizzical"🥇rolled with the punches (first being stood up and then having points stolen & sent to last place in The Wheel round) to bounce back and sn**ch victory from the jaws of defeat. The real battle however was between second and third, with (last week's winners!) "The Myth, The Mullet etc."🥈just about recognising more Gash & Tash than "Izzy Whizzy"🥉 who settle for third.

It's been a while, but "Quizzy Rascals"🥇returned to winning ways tonight with some style. "No Clue"🥈were the best of the rest with "The Regulars"🥉very close behind. A bit of a gap then down to last week's winners "Shuttle C***S"🏅completing the prize positions. "My Drinking Team have A Quiz Problem" won a £5 bar tab for their answer to the nearest the bull questions while "Izzy Wizzy"💰took away £27 from the cash bingo (at least £99 still to win next week)."

"Shuttle C***S"🥇are becoming regular winners of the Sunday quiz these days. "We Can See Clearly Now"🥈had Dave back and guest support from Beth & Tom. "Pinball Quizzards"🥉had the smallest team in the top 5 and take third spot with "The Man The Myth & The Rest"🏅completing the prize positions and topping 400 points. "No Clue"💰took comfort from getting hte "nearest the bull" and £27 from bingo (meaning there is still a big prize pot for next week).

Another epic quiz night at Wyld. It took just three quizzes (& a spin of the Wheel of Fortune) for 'Foxy Khalifa'🥇 to master the smartphone quiz, £20 Wyld vouchers and that all important winner's key ring as reward. Despite their name, 'The Early Cu**ers' couldn't close the gap in the final picture round of "Drummer or Cu**er", but they held on to second. With 'Graktin' (?) taking third. In fact, any of the top 8 teams were in with a chance of a top-three finish going into the final 30 pointer, but it was 'Gordon' who took the 30 pointer (and a free cocktail) for getting closest in the question "How many times is the word 'Dinosaur" spoken in the original Jurassic Park movie?"

A comfortable win in the end for "No Clue"🥇, helped by a good run in the mini sports round. £15 in bar tabs and a winner's key ring for their efforts. "Shuttle C***S" had another strong performance and were runner's up with "We Can See Clearly Now" finishing in third. "The Lone Ranger" had a strong start, but faded in the latter stages BUT still walked away with £19 from the bingo" 🥰.

With only the final 30 point questions to go, 'We Can See Clearly Now' were the only team in the top 4 to submit an answer within the 10 seconds. No surprise then as they jump from 3rd to 1st and take another SQ victory. 'Celebussy' were competitive all night while 'Eradicators' made use of a Fast-Track to briefly take 1st before ending the quiz in 3rd.

With the exception of "I Can See Clearly Now" who benefitted from bonus bingo points and pulled away in the end with the 30 pointer, it was very tight between our teams tonight. "Quiz on my chest" were briefly at the top with the help of the "Wheel of Fortune" but were then battered by other teams penalising them and so unfortunate to finish last. "The Lone Ranger" had led but faded in the nursery rhyme round. "Quiz all over my face" played a steady game and snuck up into second, with "The Myth & Bruce Lee" making up the prize positions.

'Sandy Demons' appeared to linger outside the top four for most of the quiz but timed their assent to perfection. In second, going into the final 30 pointer, they got very close to guessing the distance from Birmingham Alabama to Birmingham UK and with that, took first place. 'We Can See Clearly Now' settle for second with 'No Clue', also surpassing 400 points in third. 'Shuttle C**K' complete the prize positions (even though one of the team were very sure that composer Vangelis had the first name Jon - Jon Anderson, of the partnership "Jon & Vangelis", would be most upset!!). Despite propping up the table, 'Izzy Whizzy Let's Fail The Quizzy" walked away with £15 by winning the bingo!

Several teams took their turn at the top of the leaderboard but once winners "Darwin Toonez" got there they were determined not to be overtaken. The chasing pack, all of which had flirted with victory, were very close with "We Can See Clearly Now" runners-up, all day drinkers "All The Beer No Idea" in third (ALSO winning £45 in cash bingo) and, in fourth, "dean & dean" making up the remaining prize positions.

Three of our top four bar tab winning teams had that essential ingredient for a successful quiz team - members with a range of ages. Top spot and a winner's key ring went to "Shuttle C***S" with "Pick & Mix" being overtaken during a bunch of footie questions in the final round. The youthful "Regulars" had a far better performance this week with a particularly good music round AND took £40 in the Bingo too. "We Can See Clearly Now" settle for fourth this week with "Let's Get Quizzical" getting the bar tab for the final, "nearest the bull" question regarding the distance between Buckingham Palace & Edinburgh Castle.
