Sprouts is a mobile flower truck business aiming to bring local and homegrown fresh flowers and adorable succulents to the Tri-State area. Think food truck but for flowers! Isabel, our vintage 1957 VW pickup truck, is currently in the shop and slowly coming to life. We're hoping to be up and running by mid-spring. Now taking orders! I hope you all are keeping cool and hydrated- it’s been so humid. We have lots of flowering this week- a truck event tomorrow and a bridal flower bar on Saturday and a few diy buckets going out the door. That’s been very popular lately. We have been working on our “secret garden” for 3 years now. It’s a beautiful space with raised beds and benches, a table in the center to gather, lights ….. I would like to share the space. It’s a place that is peaceful, a place to gather and celebrate, reflect, pick flowers. If you are looking for a pretty space for your next small celebration please get in touch. Since the weather has turned a little…..much cooler and a lot less humid, I decided to try and organize the barn workshop….. as always I got distracted and decided to make some dried floral wreaths. I get these spurts of creativity sometimes and just go for it and leave the task at hand for another day. It’s healthy to give yourself time to create when the mood strikes. Everything else will get done in time. I will be selling cheery posies for the on Sunday, wrapped in brown paper and ribbon for that special friend, just because.

I’m doing 2 garden walks with clients today to pick out florals for their upcoming events. We are expanding as a micro flower farm. It’s so rewarding to share our flowers with clients or source from other local flower farms. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We hit some of the sales going on at the garden centers in the area. So easy to buy, but then you have to plant it all! I delivered some colorful arrangements to for a 50th birthday party. Made with all local flowers from my garden and from and some baptista from my floral friend Tami . We will be on Sunday so stop by and say hello. I have lots of fresh lavender bunches 🪴🪴remember to stop and smell the flowers blooming all around.

All I had to do was bring the cushions in …. Where is all the rain we were supposed to get?? It was a beautiful marshmallow sky this evening. I’m still harvesting the snaps!! Rumor has it Clementine will be in Princeton tomorrow for a staff appreciation event. It’s one of our favorite events to do. Have a great week and 4th of July!!

Here are some photos from the past couple of weekend’s events and some from the garden. Anyone need snapdragons? I can’t cut them fast enough! We may be at a new farmer’s market so stay tuned! I’m so thankful to all friends and clients who have trusted me with providing flowers. It is really an honor to be asked and a wonderful time of year to use local blooms. Not to be dramatic but I feel like an empty nester all over again. It’s two weeks to the day that these sweet baby birds hatched and now they are out of the nest my older son and I actually watched one of the babies breaking out of its shell. they were there all cuddled up this morning and gone this afternoon but probably around. I saw one baby hopping around when I was watering and it quickly hid in the grass clippings. Nature is so wonderful. I just wonder where mama is.

Phew…. What a weekend. The best part was celebrating Matt’s birthday and Father’s Day - we missed Marielle not being here. So to recap, we dropped off flowers , prepared for a wedding reception - thank you to my older son Mike and Steve for helping to transport and place flowers Then off to .restaurant to deliver 80 arrangements for a reception. Did I over buy flowers? Yes I did but I have enough for another wedding this weekend, flowers for Night Under the Stars and a 80th birthday party. It’s not always this busy believe me! The most fun part of the weekend was hanging together, laughing playing ping pong and celebrating Matt’s birhday and Father’s Day with the best father and husband that I know. Oh … two baby birds hatched in my garden which was so awesome. I hope all the dads were celebrated whether here or in heaven. I know I’ve missed my dad for the past 44 years. Wish you could see my garden❤️

We had such a lovely time last evening . The setting was perfect, beautiful arrangements were made, I became so much more comfortable with public speaking - maybe because I love what I do and maybe sharing tips and tricks I have learned is so rewarding and eye opening. I know that when I learn something new about floral design I appreciate it. Clementine was decked out like a mobile flower bar. No two arrangements were alike and all stunning!! We had a lot fun designing flowers for a big Princeton graduation party this evening. It was a little rainy setting up but the weather has gotten so much better. Happy Memorial Day weekend! We are parked next to - come down and find a treasure and a bouquet! It wasn’t a toss up who was coming out today! So….. where is the sun? The temp has been ok but it’s a little dreary out there. All the flowers you see in these pictures we grew as an experiment. No labeling so it’s a potpourri. I think they are so pretty on a gloomy day and a nice surprise 😀. We’ll be tomorrow with Isabel - look forward to seeing you!

I think this sweet birdie has found a friend.

So I wanted to share this video of sunflowers we planted - we weren’t sure they would come up but are thriving. Princeton lost a dear woman from ALS recently. She was a friend of mine. We were fairly close. Our kids were in the same grade. But she was the one that came up with my logo and was so artistically receptive to my vision. Anne I will miss you and I am so thankfull that I spent that day visiting with you and you pointing out the hummingbirds. I was just told that sunflowers were among your favorite flowers…. So here you go. I will miss you.

We are having our very first event in the Secret Garden tomorrow. It’s called the secret garden because that’s what my mom used to call her garden. She loved walking in her garden around twilight. Isabel is spending the night outside the garden. She will be transformed into a succulent bar for tomorrow’s baby shower. This is really a dream come true living here. And I love sharing this space. If you ever need a place to gather for a celebration just let me know. This farm has kept us busy and young😂. This might be why our kitchen floor is so hard to keep clean. These gals are loving the dirt piles.🙄

I’m just weeping now. There were 4 goslings. Then 3 just yesterday and now there are 2. I’m so sad and I know that is life and I’m sure there are foxes and coyotes etc but I loved watching this little family yet they move on. Oh life on a farm.
