There'll be Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Cliff, Curtis Lee, Eddie Cochran, Elvis, Fats Domino, Frankie Lymon, Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Joe Bennett, Joe Turner, Johnny Cash, Lavern Baker, Little Richard, Rick Nelson, Ruth Brown and so many more. We all know this great record from its 1986 reissue that hit the top spot on our charts, but it was originally released in 1957. It was written by Jackie Wilson’s manager, Berry Gordy who then went on to use the proceeds of its early success and set up the Tamla and Motown labels and the rest is history! If you want to hear other great records from that era, then join me on Friday, 12th August for an evening full of memories at the Rose and Crown, Oundle Market Place, PE8 4BA from 8pm. This event will now be fundraising with a £2 entry fee to help send a 17yr old lad abroad for brain cancer treatment.

Come and enjoy the nostalgic and great sounds of the fabulous Rock ‘n’ Roll and Rhythm & Blues era in pure sound from 78 and 45 rpm records in the perfect atmospheric setting of an Americana featured bar. Diary Date: 50's/60's Rock 'n' Roll + R&B in the Americana setting of the Rose and Crown in Oundle Market Place. Friday 12th August for both 45's and 78's played the Retro way. Great rock and roll, rhythm and blues plus some R&B numbers that then turned up years later in the Northern Soul clubs.
