A moment for those tiny wild curated posies we know as buttonholes.

I've always loved teeny tiny things - from dolls house sized goblets to Thumbelina sleeping in her horse chestnut shell with a rose petal cover. I've even been known to coo over those cute little packs of flour in the supermarket, so surely it comes as no suprise that I love a buttonhole, and I adore creating them.

Butt, did you know, buttonholes are traditionally worn on the left lapel and a corsage on the right to avoid crushing the petals against each other when dancing? Just gorgeous 🤎

What a summer that was! I'll be sad to see the end of all the delicious British blooms I've had the pleasure of flowering with this year. I love the huge dose of magic they bring to my floral styling, and I'm already looking forward to seeing what beauties and new favourites next year's growing season brings!

Big shout out to the amazing local growers who are continuously up against it (weather, slugs, mice etc etc etc) but carry on with their vision of beautiful chemical and pesticide free blooms regardless. Thank you so much 🙏🌸💫💛🐝 to

Despite the recent lack of activity on these squares, I'm still very much here! Please stick with me, I have so much gorgeousness to share once things slow down a little 🌸🌿
In the meantime, here's an absolute belter of a summer urn from back in August for the wonderful Emma & Will

Sunshine filled tables for M + D
Crisp whites, fresh greens, and golden hued buttery yellows.
I couldn't be happier to notice a little more love this year for one of my favourite hues. Could 2024 be the start of a very gentle revolution when it comes to yellow wedding flowers? Here's hoping 🤞

Somewhere between the whirlwind of wedding work, there's occasionally a space for slowing down and simply enjoying the pleasure of being creative with flowers affords me.

Colour and composition are the design puzzles my brain craves to be absorbed in while everything else fades away for a moment or two.

I didn't even notice was busy capturing me in the "zone" but I'm so glad she did. Beautiful dahlias from 🌸💕

Shades of sunshine from back in May when the cow parsley and the buttercups were doing their thing in time for the festival
Thanks to for letting me loose with the snips - a dream scenario (!) and to for her wild floral talents 💛🌾

I am so happy that there's been a move towards embracing yellow blooms this year. Mostly because it's a colour that truly reflects the landscape around us, and despite popular belief, choosing yellow in your colour scheme doesn't mean you have to go bright and vibrant.. Pastel shades are fresh and pretty, while golden buttercream hues are achingly elegant & romantic.

Which one would you go for? x

Home from a few days visiting some of our favourite haunts in East Sussex, and it was lovely to be home in time for quick potter in the garden before the rain started.

By the way, before you get excited and invite yourself over.... this is NOT my garden (I wish!). It's just one of a gazillion photos I took in the gardens at Sissinghurst this week. Absolutely beautiful. I love a gate within a wall, basically feeding into all of my The Secret Garden daydreams and the romance of imagining what lies beyond. I thoroughly recommend it 🌿🌹🌾🌱✨️

Bowls + Plinths for F + S 💞
A new favourite, I suspect you can tell why, and a brilliant demo of how focusing your floral budget into one install rather than dotting blooms around a larger space creates impact and a serious wow for you and your guests.

A glimpse behind the scenes in my studio. This is my workbench - it's where I condition and arrange your flowers, steep dye baths, and gather students for Dove & Myrtle workshops. It's seen it all and could most definitely tell a tale or two 💫

Charlston Farmhouse in the spring sunshine. The garden was filled with tulips, forget-me-not and lunaria when I was there last week with a few narcissi still in flower and the rest of the garden very much awakening - the cow parsley all around just starting to show.

When Hayley invited me to come and have a play with her flowers to show you what to expect from our Spring Basket Workshop on May 4th, I jumped at the chance.
Even on the greyest of days this week, the farm was such a beautiful and tranquil place to spend time. I created this gorgeous basket completely immersed in nature & birdsong 🐦‍⬛and I can't tell you how good it was for the soul 🩷
If you'd like to come and join us for the workshop, tickets and more information are available via the link on my profile x

Dove & Myrtle - Creative Floral Design

Working from a Sussex seaside studio I create bespoke wild & natural floral designs for couples planning informal and relaxed weddings, parties, supper clubs, press days and celebrations of all shapes and sizes..

From tumbling bridal bouquets to large scale installations my signature style is painterly and freshly gathered with a hint of secret gardens and the Bohemian. I love to use colour, texture and delicately scented British blooms to bring the outside in. I hope you will choose Dove & Myrtle because you are looking for something little less ordinary and because you love my flower style.

Seasonal flowers & foliage are carefully sourced either from the market or local growers and I support British grown wherever possible. It’s also not unusual to find me foraging my surroundings on the hunt for the perfect ingredient!

From word go I will take the time to listen to your ideas and fully understand the day you’re planning. We’ll meet, you’ll talk and together we’ll create flowers that are truly memorable and unique to you.
