This past weekend was my first and last wedding of the season, made even more special because it was for dear friends of mine. Itās bittersweet though, as it was also my last wedding for a while. After growing Sand & Spruce, itās time to take a break and reevaluate a few things.
Running a business solo has its challenges, despite the help of kind friends and family. It becomes quite taxing juggling all of the behind-the-scenes business pieces in addition to planning and then choosing to still work a full-time job. Itās worked up until now but itās not a sustainable approach, hence the need for the pause.
I want Sand & Spruce to come back better and stronger, not just for the couples who trust me with such a special day but for myself and my loved ones who have been my biggest supporters. While I donāt have a timeline, Iām excited to explore new ways to approach weddings and come back when the time feels right.
This isnāt goodbye, just a pause. Iāll still be available for behind-the-scenes help with timelines, vendor recommendations, and design adviceājust not the in-person day-of work. Please continue to reach out! Iāll still be present on here as there are still beautiful weddings that Iāve been part of that Iāve yet to share (Iām so sorry!). And I also want to get feedback on what people want to see done differently or stay the same with weddings as thatās a big piece to this reevaluating Iām doing.
Thank you for making it to this part of my long post.
Cheers to pausing! š¤āØ
