This past weekend was my first and last wedding of the season, made even more special because it was for dear friends of mine. It’s bittersweet though, as it was also my last wedding for a while. After growing Sand & Spruce, it’s time to take a break and reevaluate a few things.
Running a business solo has its challenges, despite the help of kind friends and family. It becomes quite taxing juggling all of the behind-the-scenes business pieces in addition to planning and then choosing to still work a full-time job. It’s worked up until now but it’s not a sustainable approach, hence the need for the pause.
I want Sand & Spruce to come back better and stronger, not just for the couples who trust me with such a special day but for myself and my loved ones who have been my biggest supporters. While I don’t have a timeline, I’m excited to explore new ways to approach weddings and come back when the time feels right.
This isn’t goodbye, just a pause. I’ll still be available for behind-the-scenes help with timelines, vendor recommendations, and design advice—just not the in-person day-of work. Please continue to reach out! I’ll still be present on here as there are still beautiful weddings that I’ve been part of that I’ve yet to share (I’m so sorry!). And I also want to get feedback on what people want to see done differently or stay the same with weddings as that’s a big piece to this reevaluating I’m doing.
Thank you for making it to this part of my long post.
Cheers to pausing! 🤍✨
