Oh yeah, I set up this show at Skid Row Garage. Go buy tickets to it because 100 % of the proceeds to to Not One More - York Chapter which is an organization that helps people overcome opioid addiction (and also helps their families). I have known far too many people who have died from opioid addiction and I bet you do too.
Go watch some metal bands and support a good cause. I originally set up this show just as a way to celebrate the end of my MBA program and to mark a milestone birthday -- but I would rather host if for the cause. These are all some of my favorite bands and genres of metal.

If your band has a show and you don't promote it somehow -- either on social media, texting your friends, your websites, e-newsletter, or even by posting printed flyers in the town where it's happening, then you are part of "what's wrong with the scene."

Despite the fact that I organized six multiday metal fests with a variety of fairly well-known and up-and-coming bands and 100+ smaller shows over about 10 years, that I have been "critically" listening to music for as long as I can remember, and that I did write a metal music blog for a while, I still feel like a complete jag-off when sharing my thoughts on music. I honestly wonder what anyone gains by reading a music review. Yet we have countless blogs, magazines, and vlogs dedicated to that very thing. Music is so personal. What is good to me could be (probably is) crap to you. The best I can do at this point since I don't book shows anymore, is to recommend music that maybe you have not heard about and let you make up your own mind about it. Lastly, I don't know why I care about this stuff so much anyway.

Important MERCH update and shipping

I was catching up on some shipping tonight and current patch, mask and previous fest item orders are going out tomorrow. All SWMF V merch that was PRE ordered before June 22 was produced and sent out recently from our vendor and you should have received it (plus reprints of the hoodies). If you have not received a 2021 hoodie, shirt, long sleeve, or tank and you ordered before June 22, please message me at [email protected]
Orders placed after June 23 will be produced in the next run.
If you want to pre-order for this next run please do so by Saturday, July31. This is especially important if you want a 2XL or larger in any item.
The next batch of orders will be produced and sent to you before the fest from my vendor in Brooklyn. And then there will be a limited selection AT the fest to shop from the SWMF merch table. My goal however is to get as much sent out in advance as possible. I live in a 3rd floor apartment now and I drive a small car, I ain't got room for all this!
After July31 the web store will be turned off until after the fest. This is to ensure that this second batch of pre-orders reaches you prior to the fest.
There are plenty of SWMF V patches, some masks, some extremely limited stock from previous events that you can preorder and I will personally ship to you. There may be some other SWMF merch you have not yet seen available only at the fest. :)

Advanced ticket sales are required. We WILL NOT be selling tickets at the gate. Please pay attention to when various ticket tier sales END. August 26 is the date to keep in mind. This includes PARKING passes. Don't miss it!
If you are someone who prefers to pay in cash, please find a friend to buy your passes online for you.
CAMPING PASSES
If you intend to spend the night at the camp, make sure to pick up a camping pass too. It does not have to be in the same order as you ticket, but you still will need one. This helps up keep track of how many bodies are on site and make sure we do not exceed our permitted capacity.

For a variety of reasons, we feel more and more confident that 2021 is going to be much better for live in-person concerts. We feel confident that SWMF V will happen, especially because it is outdoors and Woodsians can easily physically distant to view performances and spread out for camping. Those with cabins can isolate and the ventilation is excellent. SWMF will also be putting all necessary protocols in place to ensure the safety of our attendees. So with that said, we want to sweeten the pot today through Monday Nov 30. Any weekend ticket purchased over the next three days will receive a FORTY DOLLAR SWMF merch voucher for use at the fest. Buy two tickets, get EIGHTY and so on. This is FOR REAL the last year of this festival so we want as many people as can attend to b there. We have 200 acres to share.

I know many of you support my Shadow Woods Productions music events and Shadow Woods and Shadow Frost Music fests, and since all that is pretty much on hiatus until the pandemic gets under control this is filling the gap.
