Oh yeah, I set up this show at Skid Row Garage. Go buy tickets to it because 100 % of the proceeds to to Not One More - York Chapter which is an organization that helps people overcome opioid addiction (and also helps their families). I have known far too many people who have died from opioid addiction and I bet you do too.
Go watch some metal bands and support a good cause. I originally set up this show just as a way to celebrate the end of my MBA program and to mark a milestone birthday -- but I would rather host if for the cause. These are all some of my favorite bands and genres of metal.

If your band has a show and you don't promote it somehow -- either on social media, texting your friends, your websites, e-newsletter, or even by posting printed flyers in the town where it's happening, then you are part of "what's wrong with the scene."

Despite the fact that I organized six multiday metal fests with a variety of fairly well-known and up-and-coming bands and 100+ smaller shows over about 10 years, that I have been "critically" listening to music for as long as I can remember, and that I did write a metal music blog for a while, I still feel like a complete jag-off when sharing my thoughts on music. I honestly wonder what anyone gains by reading a music review. Yet we have countless blogs, magazines, and vlogs dedicated to that very thing. Music is so personal. What is good to me could be (probably is) crap to you. The best I can do at this point since I don't book shows anymore, is to recommend music that maybe you have not heard about and let you make up your own mind about it. Lastly, I don't know why I care about this stuff so much anyway.
