Pick Your Own Frontier Town Christmas Tree! 🎄

We're excited to announce a special holiday event at Frontier Town as part of our ongoing restoration efforts. As we work on restoring this historic place, we also need to thin out some large patches of trees on our upper property. Rather than let these beautiful trees go to waste, we're turning it into a fun holiday event – come pick your own Frontier Town Christmas tree right from our property!

For $150, you'll get an unforgettable experience:

• Your very own Frontier Town Tree: Wander our woods and select your very own Christmas tree. Our team will safely cut it down for you and even carry and load it onto your vehicle. No heavy lifting needed! Trees are limited to 6’ to 10’ in height, within designated areas. We have mostly pines and some firs. Additional trees can be purchased for an extra $50.

• Guided Frontier Town Tour: While you're here, enjoy a personal guided tour of Frontier Town's historic highlights – including the old church, the saloon, the restaurant, and more. You'll hear stories of our past and get a sneak peek at the restoration in progress.


• Cozy Holiday Treats: To make your visit extra special, we'll have hot chocolate and marshmallows for you to enjoy and keep you warm as you explore.

• Dog-Friendly Fun: Yes, dogs can come! Friendly, leashed pups are welcome to join the adventure and be part of the family fun. 🐾


Event Details

• When: Starting December 1st, by appointment only. This event will run while supplies last (we have a limited number of trees available) and as long as we can safely access the tree areas during the winter season. Once the available trees are gone, this opportunity ends!

• Where: Frontier Town’s upper property – you'll get to park near “main street” in Frontier Town, and you will get a chauffeured ride in a UTV to explore parts of the property not usually open to the public during your visit.


• Price: $150 per tree (includes the tree, tour, and treats). Every penny goes directly towards Frontier Town’s restoration efforts, helping to bring this Montana landmark back to life for everyone.

• Group Size: To keep the experience personal, we are limiting each booking to 3 people or fewer. If you have a larger group, please mention it in your email – we’ll try to accommodate when possible (additional fees may apply for groups over 3).


• How to Reserve: Email us at [email protected] with 3 possible dates and times that you’d like to visit. We will do our best to match you with one of your preferred slots and will reply to confirm your tree-cutting adventure. (Be sure to include your group size and any special requests in the email.) *Note, your appointment is not scheduled unless you’ve received a confirmation email.

Important: Quantities are very limited, and this is a first-come, first-served experience. We want each family to have a magical time, so book early to secure your tree and tour!

By choosing a Frontier Town tree, you're not just getting a beautiful Christmas centerpiece, you're also supporting the preservation of a piece of Montana history. All proceeds from this event will go towards our restoration projects, so you’ll be spreading holiday cheer and helping us revive Frontier Town for the community and future generations.

We try to keep our costs down but this gives you a pretty good idea of why we need to charge what we charge.

Ever wonder why brisket costs what it does?
Let’s break it down, BBQ-school style 👇

1️⃣ A whole brisket starts off around 18 pounds — big, beautiful, and untrimmed.
2️⃣ After trimming and seasoning, it’s down to about 14 pounds before it even hits the smoker.
3️⃣ After 14 hours of low-and-slow smoking, it comes out tender and perfect… but now only weighs around 8 pounds!

That means nearly half of it disappears through trimming and moisture loss — that’s the magic (and science) of BBQ.

So if brisket costs $6 a pound raw, you’re looking at roughly $110 just to start. After cooking, that works out to about $13–14 per pound — and that’s before seasoning, wood, or labor!

AND during that whole time Buddy has to babysit it — checking temps, rotating it, spritzing it, and making sure it doesn’t turn into a $100 piece of charcoal.
