Game of Taps had 38 matches today and seen 36 submissions, now thats what we call a game of taps!

With several very fast submissions, Joe Birrell got the fastest at 8 seconds in and earned a packet of Haribo sweets.

PowerGrappling thanks the competitors who took part today and your patience for us to re-organise the format due to participant numbers drastically changing on the day! We do this for you.

We thank the spectators for attending the event, we couldn't run the events without the support and funding.

And we deffo couldn't run the event with the staff who give up their own time to help with the million moving parts required to put on an event and getting paid in Haribo and caffeine.

Also shout out to legend Reaper Cammy for jumping in literally last second after a day's work to help us balance out the league numbers, hero!

Closing in on Saturday for PowerGrappling 2023 Tournament

Was going to list names entered but it's went through a lot of changes in the last two weeks and it's likely to change again !
..what it does have is a mix of levels with belt levels of white, blue, purple, brown and black belts going for it and anything could happen !!

The format has slightly changed, because of the numbers currently still registered, to mini league's then the knockout stage to get to the final

The belts up for grabs are the best trophy item we have had to win so far in the several years of events...BUT you've got to be in it to win it !!!

No live stream for this event but it will be recorded and uploaded for everyone's pleasure at some point after the event

※GENERAL※:

Divisions are in weight classes [under 80kg, 80kg - 100kg]

Competitors will be placed in a mini league using a Round Robin format with the top placed competitor moving onto the knockout stage.

Mini League stage:

Each match is set at 8 minutes.

A submission ends the match with a win

No submission in a match results in a draw

No points in matches, submission only

Knockout stage:

Each match is set at 8 minutes.

A submission ends the match with a win

No submission in a match then a 1 minute break will commence followed by an overtime round of 4 minutes

If no submission after overtime round 3x judges will need to determine a winner based on the competitor that shows the most attempts to win the match

Paisley, PA3 3BQ

We'll go through the weight divisions mini league stage then knockout stage to reach the finals. Getting to final the competitors can choose a walk in song.

Weigh in anytime before event starts.

And spectators £5 ... this is how we fund the event so bring everyone.

Winter is coming...

PowerGrappling is taking registrations for 3x weight class tournaments. These are limited to 16 competitors. Any experience level welcome. The prize for each weight division tournament winner is a PowerGrappling world championship belt. Pics to come soon.

Congratulations again to MNBJJ for winning the PowerGrappling Whitebelt Quintet 2022 event with Jax Mixed Martial Arts being runners up. Every team put in a graft and was excellent to watch all the skilled white belts competing. It was a very close contest in every round.

After the event we received a lot of positive feedback and we appreciate that. We learned some lesssons with our internet connection for streaming the live feed and this will be improved on for future and we aim to continue to provide for the grappling community.

The event was also recorded and the edited video version will be released onto the PowerGrappling YouTube page very soon.

Big shout out to the spectators that attended this event and making an awesome atmosphere. The entry fees have made this a sustainable model for us to carry on with more events in the future.

And a big thanks to the staff as we couldn't put these on without the support and assistance of these folk who give up their own time to help put these shows on.

Future events we want to set up are:
