Ron Harmon of Dennison, TX received the award for The Artist That Traveled the Farthest to participate in the Peak Art Adventure PleinAir Event & Competition. Ron is an artist that paints in. acrylic and oil. He paints primarily from his studio but has always wanted to try en plein air. The opportunity to visit the Pikes Peak Region was just to good to refuse, so he made the 2-day trip to participate in the paint-outs. Ron's painting is currently in the show at the Woodland Park Library, and hosted by Reserve Our Gallery.

Michelle Melville-Speck is the winner of the Patron's Award at the Peak Art Adventure PleinAir Event and Competition. Michelle's Oil Painting, was the first to be sold during the PleinAir show & exhibition. Michelle is an oil painter and a member of the Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters.

The Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters sponsored the PPPAP choice award during the Peak Art Adventure PleinAir Event & Competition. The award was voted on by all members of the group, for the participating member with the best plein air painting. The award went to local artist, Scott Yeager. The award came with a $100 cash prize donated by the group. The Peak Art Adventure was hosted by Reserve Our Gallery.

Glen Roberts, a Woodland Park artist was winner of the Sponsor's choice award at the Peak Art Adventure PleinAir Event & Competition. Glen's painting, Dusk Over Woodland Park was chosen by Park State Bank for this special award. Meet Amanda Dodson, a Colorado Springs artist and winner of the 1st Place Emerging Artist catagory award at the Peak Art Adventure PleinAir Event & Competition. Amanda's painting, Creek at GMF caught the attention of Tim Deibler, junior for the event and she took the award for her first plein air event. Amanda received a 1st place ribbon and a gift certificate for art supplies from regional art supply store, Meininger Art Supply. Meet Jared Brady, Woodland Park artist and winner of the Best in Show award at the Peak Art Adventure PleinAir Event & Competition. Jared's oil painting, Forest Light brought Jared $1350 in prizes for this Best in Show Honor. He received a certificate from media sponsor, PleinAir Magazine for a virtual show of his work as a Featured Artist on OutdoorPainter.com. In addition to this exhibition opportunity, Jared also received a gift card for $350 worth of art supplies from inational art supply company, Chartpak. The Vino & Notes event at Memorial Park in Woodland Park was held Sunday, August 4 & featured the Quick Draw event for the Peak Art Adventure. Eight artists participated by creating a painting during the wine tasting. Local artist, Jared Brady was named winner of the event and presented with a winning ribbon for the event and a $75 gift card from event sponsor, cheapjoesartstuff / Cheap Joes Art Stuff Coupons.

Peak Art Adventure's Quick Draw was held Sunday afternoon at the Vino & Notes event, which was held in Memorial Park in Woodland Park, CO. Honorable Mention went to Kent Kerns for his watercolor painting. Congratulations to Kent & to the collector who purchased this piece of fine art!

The Peak Art Adventure has been running all week, with the All About Pikes Peak Show happening at Reserve Our Gallery. Then we have the Peak Art Adventure Plein Air Event and Competition with artists painting en PleinAir all over Woodland Park. The Award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday eventing, 8/8 from 6 - 8 pm.

The PAA event is a massive success due to the efforts of the host, Reserve Our Gallery and Westside Gallery to generate a regional activity that has brought a true Art Destination to our fine city of Woodland Park.

Destination Art - Peak Art Adventure - Woodland Park started yesterday with many artists participating in the paint out at Aspen Valley Ranch. Organizer and Hostess, Gayle Gross was at Aspen Valley Ranch to welcome the artists and enjoy watching them paint.
