Julie Deustua, Cocina de la Tierra owner and founder, is a Mexican by birth, Peruvian-American by heart and marriage Cordon Bleu Chef, certified Precision Nutrition Coach, Plant-Based Nutrition specialist, Foodie Entrepreneur, and Marketing Manager for international corporations in another pre-foodie lifetime!
She teaches fun cooking workshops using recipes and ingredients from around the world, encouraging her students and Nutrition Coaching clients to embrace home cooking for a healthier living through adventurous and fun flavors.
Before coming to San Diego, Julie spent several years in Belgium, Central America, San Francisco and Mexico City working on top-rated restaurants, providing artisan catering for happy clients and developing a healthy-eating coaching practice, which included personalized detox programs and healthy cooking classes. And yes…she loves to teach French Cooking with lots of butter too!
Julie is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and when she is not in the kitchen, she is exercising, enjoying the beautiful SoCal beaches, or planning trips and traveling around the world to experience new cultures and try new foods.
