It’s been a minute since I’ve shown my face! It’s time for a bit of a reintroduction and update as I’ve been quiet and MIA over the past season. My name is Mauri and I am the owner, founder, farmer, florist and all of the things behind Peacock Farm and Flower. 🌷🌻👩🌾We’ve been faced with some big changes and challenges as we’ve moved out to Azle to focus on growing the farm and our family. I will say perhaps I was a bit ambitious and underestimated how much I was biting off with this undertaking.
Over these past months we have learned so much about farming and nurturing a family. As a result, Peacock Farm and Flower has become more of a farm company and less of a flower company. This is not to say we aren’t still growing flowers, we definitely are. We are just doing so so much more than that! We have been breeding and raising cattle, sheep, and chickens. 🐓 🐄🐑🐴We have been growing fruit, herbs, and vegetables, and cultivating hay. We’ve been implementing regenerative farming practices such as rotational grazing and water capturing and creating permaculture planting. 💚🌱♻️I want to thank those that have hung around even during our awkward stage. Our plan this upcoming season is to offer more products which will still include local grown blooms from our farm stand. This move away from markets and deliveries allows us to focus more of our time and our energy at the farm and on our growing family. Expect an announcement coming soon for our CSA sign up. Our farm stand will be a mostly members only purchasing program this season so that we can ensure we are able to meet demand and test-run this new venture on a small scale.
We are still booking truck events for Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day and private events! We are still booking flower arranging classes and we are still helping our customers with their floral needs for weddings and events. In the future we hope to be able to host some events at the farm and share with you what we’ve been working on! 💕💕💕
