Hello, science lovers!
It's National Static Electricity Day in the USA today, but why not celebrate right here in Ireland too? 🌍⚡ What a perfect excuse to explore the wonders of static electricity together!
💡 Try this simple experiment:
Grab a 🎈 balloon, rub it against your child's hair (or your own), and watch the magic happen as the balloon sticks to the wall. Bonus: Enjoy your exciting new hairstyle 💇♀️⚡
Fun Fact:
Static electricity happens when certain materials rub together, causing electrons to transfer and create an electric charge. In wet winter weather 🌧️ like we have in Ireland, static shocks are less common because moisture in the air helps conduct the charge away before it builds up.

This term, we’ll explore the wonders of electricity, learn to build electric circuits and make our own electronic quiz games. Don’t miss the chance to spark your child's curiosity with hands-on experiments! Check if our science club is in your school and join us there.
Share your electrifying experiments with us in the comments—we’d love to see your pictures and stories! 📸
Happy experimenting!
