When Grace and Jack asked us to be a part of their day, we knew it would be a very special one. We've known this gorgeous couple for a while now, and we've seen just how strong and beautiful the bond they have is. Like most couples, they were put to the test over the past couple of years, and have come out the other side stronger than ever. With a thriving business in the arts, and a bub on the way, there was a lot to celebrate alongside the people they love most, and the joy was palpable in the air around them.

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and given the luscious down-pouring all day long, Grace and Jack are going to have good luck in spades! It didn't take away from their day, and if anything, the rain added to the magical sparkle that seemed to surround Poet's Lane Receptions long into the night. This was the perfect venue for a winter wedding. Inside the stunning chapel and reception spaces, the outside world faded away and time stood still, as Grace and Jack said their I Dos.

The true meaning of marriage is something these two have put a lot of thought into. After their engagement, they began asking some of their closest friends and family for words of advice, on what truly makes a great union. The responses they received are spoken by Grace and Jack themselves during their film... we think they've set a pretty great foundation for the next chapter in their lives together!

We were honoured to be a part of your day Grace and Jack. Thank you for having us. It truly was a very special day, for two very special people.

Julie and Phil 22.2.20

Today’s forecast: perfect conditions with a top of 25 degrees, slight cloud cover in the afternoon and a 100% chance of love.

Julie and Phil sealed their love in the most amazing way at Chateau Wyuna with a day full of personality, fun and heart.

Julie began preparing at their family home surrounded by her two strapping sons, band of bridesmaids and proud mother. The morning was relaxed with the excitement of the day bubbling already as Julie geared up to live out her dreams of being a princess bride.
After donning their gorgeous wedding attire, the family were ready to go with a skip in their step.

Over at York On Lilydale, Phil was starting his day with a perfect backdrop of lush trees, birds calls and a pristine pond. His excited daughters and son were there too to put the finishing touches on Dad’s swanky suit. Laughter, smiles and warmth summed up the Cross family.

Chateau Wyuna sat waiting with several of Julie and Phil’s charming old trucks positioned in the gardens, primed for photo opportunities and the gorgeous old wood cabin awaited their arrival.

Mike Larkin, the MC and celebrant for the day, had the guests in stitches with his charming humour and weather predictions. Julie arrived in style in a beautiful vintage car and the ceremony was under way.

After the formalities were concluded and photos were snapped, with Julie and Phil getting some precious time to enjoy their newly married status, they were off to the reception for a night of fun.

Special speeches and amazing food prepared everyone for an incredible choreographed family dance by the newly blended family. The mood was high with pumping music and guests of all ages showing off their best moves.

The reception capped off a perfect day and there was certainly no raining on Julie and Phil’s parade.

We truly appreciate being able to be a part of your day Julie and Phil and we wish you both a happy life together!

Sarah & Jeff 30.11.19

What makes a wedding special?

Two people celebrating their love with their friends and family?
A perfectly picked venue that suits the couple like a glove?
Epic dance moves?
Tear jerking speeches filled with love and laughter?

Sarah and Jeff’s day had it all. They said their “I Do’s” in front of their nearest and dearest with rolling Victorian hills behind them and a gorgeous renovated woolshed to their side.

The day started with Sarah’s bridesmaids and teenage son relaxing in their matching robes, enjoying 80’s tunes and preparing for the day to come. The mood was one of fun, appreciation and excitement for this glowing bride’s special day.

Jeff and his best mates arrived in style to the Warrawong Woolshed, in Jeff’s vintage car which had been perfectly detailed by best man Scott earlier that day.
The three men were cool, calm, up for a joke and beer before everything was under way.

When all the guests had arrived, it was time for the formalities to take place and for Jeff to see his stunning bride. Jeff and Sarah shared their vows and kisses beneath an elegant wooden frame which made the perfect image for their day.

The reception continued inside the old woolshed, with new polished floorboards (perfect for dancing) shining ‘LOVE’ signs and intricate flower displays. Words were shared from all parties and Sarah’s sister (and maid of honour) gifted the guests with a pitch-perfect song. The night concluding with a gorgeous ritual of everyone placing their thumb prints with different coloured ink on an incredible tree drawn by Sarah’s brother. This was the perfect symbol for the family's love and support of the couple.

Thank you Sarah and Jeff. We loved being a part of your special day and wish you all the very best for your future together!

Chinique & Liam 4.10.19

Tractors and silos and sheds, oh my!

The family farm in Neilborough was a truly special and unique location for Chinique and Liam’s gorgeous day. With the rain graciously holding off, the moody clouds made for a perfect backdrop for this young couple to honour their 10-year relationship in front of their nearest and dearest.

Guests made their way out to the farm and were welcomed with beautiful rustic trimmings any formal venue would be envious of. Lawns games, lollies, mirrors, fairy lights and chandeliers set the scene for the joyous day that was to come.

Liam and his groomsmen chatted and laughed with close friends and family while he waited for his future bride to arrive. The moment came, and Chinique rolled up with her bridesmaids in truly epic and cinematic fashion.

The ceremony was full of touching traditions, charming speeches and vows complete with ‘Friends’ references. The two tied the knot and made the most of the beautiful setting sun to capture their memories before making their way into the reception.

As the night rolled on, the converted shed was filled with warmth, avid conversation, love and friendship that perfectly showed how much this couple’s life together meant to everyone there.

A 10-year relationship moving beautifully into its next exciting phase.

Thank you for having us Chinique and Liam! This is a wedding we won’t forget any time soon.

Film #3 - Owen & Andrea 5.11.18

The sun shone high over the glittering Yarra Valley on Cup Day eve for Andrea and Owen’s wedding day. The perfectly relaxed and glowing Andrea began getting ready with her girl squad in a gorgeous home in Healesville, while just down the road at the RACV club, the equally calm and charming Owen was suiting up alongside his gaggle of groomsmen. After some billiards, a few drinks and some horse-racing themed excitement, the guys headed over to Rochford Wines, for Owen to await his future bride.

Andrea arrived in style, stepping gracefully out of her shiny black limo and made her way, Dad on her arm, down the aisle. The ceremony was full of laughter, happy tears and so much love.

Rochford’s giant ‘LOVE’ sign and sweeping vineyard views were the perfect rustic backdrop for the reception, where the sun set stunningly behind the bridal party. Speeches, eating, drinking, laughing, dancing and more dancing filled the evening.
A wonderful beginning for what is sure to be an exciting new adventure for this happy couple.

We loved being a part of your day. Thank you for having us!

Film #2 - Cynthia & Ruarri 28.10.18

Cynthia and Ruarri's wedding day began bright and early at Cyn's family home in Donvale, where a traditional Chinese tea ceremony took place. Cyn and her bridesmaids had been up getting ready since the crack of dawn, and a suave, relaxed Ruarri arrived to be greeted by a series of initiation games (including him being blindfolded and guessing which hands were Cynthia's - luckily, he guessed right!) The tea ceremony then began, with members of both families congratulating the couple and drinking tea in their honour.

Everyone then excitedly relocated to Rippon Lea Estate, where the ceremony took place in the peaceful gardens set against the magnificent heritage mansion. Ruarri managed to pronounce 'I Do' expertly in Chinese, kissed his new bride and walked her down the aisle.

After a costume change by the picturesque newlyweds, it was time for the reception to kick off at Quat Quatta, the stunning house built in 1890, which now hosts multiple weddings every week. Everyone danced, ate lobster, drank, and gave Cyn and Ruar a sparkling welcome into the next stage of their lives together.

Film #1 - Lisette & Melissa Lee-Simone 21.9.18

On 21st September, Lisette and Melissa celebrated ten years since they tied the knot in Canada with friends and family in a beautiful vow renewal ceremony and celebration of their right to marriage in Australia.

They laughed, danced, jumped on the bed, did a little yoga and broke bread as they prepared at The Cullen Hotel before heading down the road to Morocco Lounge for the ceremony and party.

The evening was full of laughter and so much love, with heartfelt and hilarious speeches from their close friends and a spectacular rainbow cake reveal.

The ladies looked stunning with hand-sourced dresses, matching shoes and effortless looking hair styled by friend and extension extraordinaire, Jay.

We were so delighted to not only be guests, but also the videographers for this special occasion.
We hope you enjoy watching their film as much as we enjoyed making it!
