Floating somewhere in the depths of house music, Jonny's selections emulate his easy-going and energetic nature. Influenced by the lush rhythms of italo-house and darker tones of late 80s Chicago, Jonny seeks out deep, introspective cuts - forever in pursuit of nostalgic soundtracks that stir up your warmest memories. ☀️
His lighter musical taste takes a slowdive through house’s heavy sampling into soul, groove and silky funk classics. Also seriously partial to psychedelic sounds, dub and afrobeats - whatever the backdrop, you can count on Jonny moving in an easy two-step sway to the music.

Chewin the Fat is an organisation promoting mental health awareness in various communities of Melbourne surrounding the music and arts industry. They will be opening the upstairs room at Warpzone this Saturday.

Benji, Bryn, Chimp, Ewan & Lachie, have raised over 25k thus far with the help of all attendees for multiple charities such as beyond blue, soldier on, and several other causes championing the education of mental health education, increasing improvement through many forms of outreach. It's a 'not-for-profit' charity were all funds raised are donated, we will be donating 10% of funds which will go into helping them curate their fairfield amphitheatre charity festival on Jan 21st. Doug lord & Narratives w. Acid Chess club will be hosting the set at Warpzone this month.
Chewin opens the upstairs creating the equilibrium of peace and play, with the help of some soothing & uplifting tunes to cherish the soul. Tickets available through:

Pers Comm is the electronic alias of Pat Carroll, a departure from his jazz instrumental playing. A figure duplicating through out the night in many forms including being the bass man of San of the Rambutan & an avid dance diva. 🎶🎸🎹
Pers Comm started in lockdown when Pat put his hands to work, turning his knowledge of music into something simpler and groovy. The productions borrow elements from 80’s/90’s electro breaks, acid, house and modern left field dance music. As a melting pot of style, the results are experimental in flavour and genre bending. The goal behind the project is to be fun and light hearted, moving away from the current norm of dark and moody themes in underground dance music.

Kevin Griffith launched Isle Of Jura in 2016 to reissue forgotten and hard to find musical gems from a range of interconnected styles, Balearica, Reggae & Dub, Ambient House, Disco, Street Soul and anything else that gets him hot under the collar.
The label was a natural progression from his first label love, Tsuba which started life in 2006 and released many wonderful House & Deep House records over the course of the following decade, at a time when he was playing regularly in nightclubs all over the place.
As Jura Soundsystem, he traverses a variety of styles and tempos, which are put together with love and the aim of providing some escapism for the listener. 🚨

On the verge of releasing their debut EP, ‘🆂🅰🅽 🅾🅵 🆃🅷🅴 🆁🅰🅼🅱🆄🆃🅰🅽’ aka ‘🆂🅾🆃🆁’ will be gracing the open-aired Gaso following some killer live performances around the hottest venues in Naarm and the occasional house party.
Formerly known as ‘Pipe Dreams’, purely created from a mistake, as an experiment for ‘The Experiment’ (one of our very own events). ‘SOTR’ through thick and thin, formed a five piece new-wave jazz band over the years, turned into an 8-piece ensemble of sorts for our very own pleasure. DJ Luv You (Ophelia Bakowski) is a non-binary DJ and multidisciplinary visual artist. Rotating between light and joyful rare groove to HI-NRG playful club selections, Ophelia is known for combining the influences of disco and contemporary dance music in fluid dynamic effect.
As a resident host on local radio stations Skylab, Hope St and Paris based LYL, Ophelia is a heavily engaged member of the local scene; Using their platforms and opportunities to always highlight the productions of womxn, q***r and non-binary folk.

Rounding up our Sunday line up is Kiwi-born, Naarm/Melbourne-based Producer and DJ, Nice Girl .me.nice.girl . This will be her first Melbourne show following her appearance in the first ever NZ Boiler Room! Can't wait to see what she has in store for us ✨
Her 2019 debut release with Houses in Motion was an eclectic dance floor focused 6-track EP gaining attention from Bell Towers. Later that year she released ‘Take a Step’ via Public Possession. Post-pandemic saw Nice Girl’s polar opposite with 4-track EP ‘Whistling Thorn’ incarnating organic, psychedelic and percussive sounds. Since then she has featured in New Zealand’s first Boiler Room Broadcast and released a 13-track album ‘Ipsum’.
As a DJ Nice Girl is non-constrained by Genre, BPM or Trends. She has been described as “taking dance music tropes and making them weird, sometimes even hilarious, without losing sight of what makes them danceable” - Resident Advisor

West African in heritage, Naarm (Melbourne)-based has quickly become an essential thread weaving through the city’s musical tapestry. He is the founder of , a progressive platform celebrating underground music and culture, where at the helm, he has successfully carved out a distinct role as radio host ,DJ and curator.
His monthly radio programme presented on has become a cult favourite, whilst the dance cultivates a space where music is not led by a specific genre rather a feeling and exploration whereby freedom in dance is encouraged. Tribqu has energised a community movement of like-minded music lovers. Such is the brand's influence, that it recently extended to hosting a stage at this year’s .
An accomplished and versatile DJ, Zjoso explores his love for soulful music across the spectrum. In a relatively short time span, he has quickly asserted himself as a prevalent figure on Naarm’s clubbing circuit. With discerning taste that touches on sounds like street soul, 90’s house, dub reggae and hazy breakbeat, he is able to navigate both dancefloors and radio frequencies with perceptive ability and a sharp skill-set. Welcoming our special guest to the lineup!
Eden Burns is a DJ and producer hailing from the deep south of Aotearoa/New Zealand. As a teenager, he connected with the world of dance music via scuffed tech-house records in dollar bins and a DVD rip of Paris Is Burning. Drawing on these inspirations, his early productions hit a sweet spot between wide-eyed weirdness and club-ready maximalism. He was quickly released on Feel My Bicep and Cold Tonic, and began an upward trajectory from the Taieri Plains to clubs and stages worldwide.
Now trading under his own name, Eden’s vividly colourful productions have been recently released via Sensible Seelen, Optimo Music, and Beats In Space. In recent years, Eden has also linked up with Public Possession, a crew of Munich upstarts who are actually able to keep up with his relentless and diverse discography. This includes the first edition of the Big Beat Manifesto series, which has gained support from Discogs sharks, Solomun, Jennifer Cardini, Jamie Tiller, Huge DJ Party Alerts, Gerd Janson and more.
Much like his productions, Eden’s DJ sets are reverent and wildly fun, the product of an innately curious talent. Whether in the booth at Rinse FM or NTS, or in front of crowds in London, Dunedin, or Japan, Eden has a habit of weaving sets that are rich and unpredictable, interspersing phases of driving momentum with joyful curveballs and blissful reveries — moments that feel like turning the corner on a precipice and suddenly seeing ocean.

Crate Mates Selectors;
ACID CHESS CLUB
ACC is a founding member of Crate Mates, Tessellate, Chewin’ The Fat, a diverse group of crews which reflect art, music, culture and prime vibes. They are a platform for a paralleled utopia of Melbourne’s music scene.
Acid Chess Club is also the alter-ego of Stevie H - an upbeat, indie dance, nu-disco, funk, & groove influencer. His new persona, now includes the likes of nu-jazz, new beat, electro, Balearic, breakbeat and acid house.
In hopes to create something new and different, an instrumental live hybrid band has been formed. Four more individuals, a heap of keys, synths, records, a sax and electric guitar along side some live percussive instruments. This is called ‘Pipe Dreams’.
His sound has been heavily influenced by wiggy and eclectic soundscapes that will stalemate your senses into confusing chaos. His sets reflect this and involve interesting, unique & brain puzzling tracks combined with a love for vinyl that will keep yourself in check… mate.
DJ LX
Inspired by the underground 80s and 90s electronic music scene, DJ LX is a curator of tunes that keep you dancing. Being one of the founding members of the event group, Crate Mates, DJ LX has played alongside local and international headliners across different venues in Melbourne's music scene. His sets mix old gems that he finds digging through crates with new tracks from emerging local producers. Often blending genres and taking you on a wild ride that you can never anticipate.
EDDY GORDO
Eddy Gordo has been a staple in the Crate Mates collective on their mission to carve out a unique sound in the Melbourne club scene. For those of you who hunger for dark rooms and heavier sounds, Eddy never disappoints with his repertoire of breaks, electro and acid to get you through the sweaty mornings.
LAPISCINE
Music enthusiast of deep, unconventional grooves with a pinch of emotive atmosphere.
Would be how Folding Shadows’ describes himself. His love for music began at an early age as his parents played him everything from hip hop (Jungle Brothers, De La Soul), electronica (Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy), soul (Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder) and punk (S*x Pistols) but matured once he really started getting out to see live bands and DJs. His journey through music has included playing in local bands around Melbourne and writing his own songs. He hosted a radio show and lived in Paris which was formulative to his current music taste.
No stranger to music that is beyond the mixing spectrum, his true passion is producing tracks using samples or elements not traditionally seen in dance music. ‘It’s all about mood, and hypnotic groove. It’s about those tracks that get you moving without even realising.’
FROU FROU
Julia has been playing for a little over a year and has played at a handful of venues in Melbourne, including Glamorama, Dr. Morse and Lounge. Over this time her sound has evolved as she has navigated the audiences, scene and her own personal journey with music. When she plays a set, her go to is deep house, but likes to break it up with something a bit on the strange side. She also loves a house set, laced with funk and hints of disco. Anything that provokes people to dance.
Her background is in health and in relation to her music, she often appreciates the healing that comes from sound and from the art of creating and performing a set. The creative process, the movement, the coming together of people and sound healing are all therapeutic to her.
She also produces tracks. Her sound is inspired by the realms of deep layered house, ambient pads and evolving acid bass lines. But like any creative pursuit, inspiration is drawn from the unexpected sources and contexts. Often times she draws from the sounds of meditative music, patterns in nature and by picking apart elements of sounds.
