🕯️ How did you get started in the industry?
My journey into candle making began as an at home creative outlet. It was a way to bring a touch of nature indoors, combining my love for foraging with a passion for creating something sustainable. I’ve always been drawn to the magic of nature, so when I discovered soy wax as a sustainable and vegan-friendly option, I knew I had found my craft. What started as a hobby quickly grew into *That Foraging Witch*, where I could blend my love for the outdoors with a creative outlet that brings warmth and light to myself and others. Plus, who doesn't love a candle lit evening?!

🕯️ What do you enjoy outside of the business?
When I’m not crafting candles, you’ll likely find me out in the wild, hiking and foraging with my family. My husband, my 6-year-old son, and I love to explore together and enjoy finding history rich walks. I’m also *slightly* obsessed with crystals and holistic therapies, which align perfectly with my love for the earth and all it offers. And I must admit, I’m a big fan of spooky season—nothing beats the cosy nights, the thrill of a good thunderstorm, and the chance to immerse myself in all things mysterious and magical.

🕯️ My favourite part of the workshops:
The absolute best part of hosting workshops is seeing the creativity that unfolds before me. I provide everyone with the same base materials, yet each person creates something uniquely their own. I watch each individual create a physical manifestation of their personality - choosing colours, crystals and scents aligning with their own tastes. There’s something truly special about sharing this craft and helping others connect with nature and their inner creativity.

🕯️ What do you want to achieve in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I’d love to expand That Foraging Witch by offering more workshops and connecting with more like minded people. I dream of creating a larger range of products that continue to bring the beauty of the outdoors into people’s homes, and perhaps even open a dedicated space where foraging, crafting, and holistic therapies can come together.

29th September 2024 - 10am until 3pm.

Relax, craft and enjoy a full day of crafting with us at Forage and Co Events.

With one date already sold out, limited spaces remain for our workshop on the 29th September at the Wymondham Windmill

What's involved:
- Learn how to create and decorate a seasonal candle, with top tips on how to burn properly, how to get an even scent throughout and why we use Soy Wax only.
- Learn how to create a bespoke Broomstick Wreath for your home, adding dried fruits and dried florals for a piece of autumn decor that no one else will have.
- Selection of seasonal canopes included, with the option to pre order lunch (extra cost).
- A glass of prosecco or non alcoholic alternative included, with a licensed bar and hot drinks available to buy and keep you topped up.
- Explore and relax around the wonderful grounds of the windmil with an opportunity to shop too.

All of this for just £55!

💐 How did you get started in the industry:
Fleur's Floristry started when planning my own wedding, researching and learning how to make floral arrangements. From then, a friend asked me to make her bouquet, and now we're here 4 years later with a new wedding each week and multiple workshops throughout the year.

💐 What do you enjoy outside of the buisness:
In my little spare time, I like to decorate, and ponder in the garden. There is always a new colour on the wall or a change around of furniture 😅 I also hold onto my past career dearly with teaching dance and singing as part of a 1940s trio at larger events and across europe, of course my daughter Luna Fleur comes everywhere with me.

💐 My favourite part of the workshops:
It has to be when the moment and smiles of achievement on all of our attendees faces wheb they see their creations! I love how I'll demonstrate a new skill, like a dream catcher or perfect bow, and will immediately see those unsure, uncertain faces, but by the end of the hour, they're all saying, "I can't believe I did that" etc.

💐 What do you want to achieve in the next 5 years?:
Within the next 5 years, I hope to be delivering 2 weddings a week with a newly renovated studio. I want to have a portfolio of bespoke florals that are truly unique to my couples and also have a workshop once a month. It'd be a dream to create large corporate installations, too!

"I recently attended an event that included candle making, floristry, and crystal healing. It was wonderful to have you guide us through your passion for candles and crystals. The candle-making process was so fun and informative, and it smells beautiful!

Trying out floristry was great, especially since I hadn't felt confident enough to give it a go before. Emily was always on hand to help and re-explain the steps, and I came away with a wreath that I was happy to hang up at home. The meditation at the end of the day was incredibly relaxing and a perfect way to wind down.

Climbing up the windmill onsite was a good addition, offering stunning views. The canapés and prosecco were a luxurious touch, as were the mocktails I had from the bar. The atmosphere was relaxed yet professional, making it a truly enjoyable day. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!"
