Bole Hill Quarry near is a wonderful place for photography and any form of mark making. Typical of pioneer speicies Silver Birch trees create a wonderfull white contrast to the skies and surrounding cliffs. It is one of my favourite place....don't tell anyone. This was a sketch.

Unless I have a photography job Wednesdays are a childcare job for me. With two young ones I get about 10mins off with both kids watching tv so instead of looking at Instagram I decided to see what a tem minute sketch looks like. No time to get any 'proper' stuff out so I grabbed an old sheet of paper, a pilot parallel pen and the kids felt tips. I often think that, for me, art is really not about the end result but the sheer pleasure of creating. So here is my lovely 10mins off from the kids. Ahhh well...back to it. 😁

Pretty tired after a fun week decorating for some friends and almost thought about just switching on the tv but instead did . I purposely tried to be quick (20 mins) and only use a single brush..maybe 3/4 wide was a bit silly. I'm not convinced by the result but feel like a calmer person for the doing. The finished drawing. Thanks for all your inputs. It was a really fun little exercise. I went for this one in the end because I like the colour palette and it is an interesting compliment to a very simple little drawing. I'm really enjoying my art at the moment so thanks to you all for taking the time to view, like and follow. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

inkjet and thought I'd do some colour experiments. It was a really fun
couple of hours and I learnt a lot. I also think not having the fear of
messing up a complete sketch was a welcome freedom.

Today feels like a bit of a struggle. We all those days and life is all about shades of light, and dark. I'm sure a walk in the woods with the baby and dog will breath some life into me. I had a free hour last night so had a bit of a sketch. Not sure where this is but likes the image. Maybe its Plockton? Sketched in and coloured with Oak Caul ink.

Missing the grand highlands. It feels like many years since I've been carving up its mellifluous road on a motorcycle or silently sailing up a secluded loch.

I love Scarboroughs many old buildings and history. I lived there for a little bit and miss riding my bike down to the cafe on the front for a coffee and bacon sandwich. There is a lot of Georgian splender to enjoy and candy floss.
