Zoukous Tropical Discotheque

Zoukous was created from a shared affection towards sounds of an equatorial persuasion by two selectors Fredrik Lavik and Galactic Mace. Together they work the dancefloor with styles ranging from 1960’s gwo ka rhythms and dubbed sounds to soukous, benga, 90’s afro house and modern modes of afrofuturism.

As a daily operation Fredrik runs the Afro7 label, dedicated to East African music treasures, from his record lair in Siuntio, Finland. Once known as Markus-Setä but now as Galactic Mace, Markus has been a steady fixture in the Helsinki club environment for nearly two decades and outside his own ventures, spins adventurous electronic recordings as a part of the WMNWM entity.
