I'm so happy to finally share some pictures from Ramiyaa & Vinod's wedding. As I reminisce, I'm reminded of the journey we went through to get to the wedding day. A global pandemic, lockdowns, I also happened to have two babies in between, but I couldn't be happier for this day to arrive for these high school sweethearts.

Ramiyaa has exquisite style and I absolutely love her choice of colour palette, her girls are her 'something blue'.

A special shout out to Ramiyaa's mum Premini Aunty, who I absolutely adore.

ASHIRVATHAM

During a Hindu wedding ceremony, there's the most thoughtful ritual, whereby the priest calls upons three generations of ancestors to give the couple their blessings. I can imagine them all looking down through the clouds and showering the couple with their love. (Maybe that's why they say that rain is a sign of good luck)

It's mine and my husband's 7th wedding anniversary today and I remembered this photo of my Ammamma, who we sadly lost four years ago. I've only ever seen her cry twice in my life, once when her father passed away and the second was when she first saw me dressed as a bride in the morning of my wedding. Here she is, looking the happiest I've ever seen her, giving us her blessings.

It gives me comfort knowing that when my children get married, she will be honoured and she will be there, giving her blessings from up above.

Afterall the one's that love us never really leave us.

If I had to pick one of my favourite frames from a wedding, this would definitely have to be in my top 10.

It was a cool December's evening and nestled in the Cheshire countryside, this converted barnhouse was transformed into an enchanted garden by the incredibly talented .uk

LORD GANESH

As Hindu's, we worship Lord Ganesh first as he is the remover of all obstacles and he is seen at the entrance of every Temple and every wedding. This beautiful Lord Ganesh set up created by was at & Ragu's wedding last year and was a talking point for all the guests.

We're really excited for what 2024 holds for us and our couples and we hope that Lord Ganesh paves the way for us all and brings us bigger and better things for us all.

Happy anniversary Priyjah and Naveen, the realest and coolest couple.

Covid-19 meant Priyjah and Naveen had to change their original grand wedding plans. What was planned would have been a real treat, but the wedding they ended up having was simply magical.

The setting was the hilly landscape of the Cotswolds and as you stood outside, you felt a true sense of serenity.

The ceremony was conducted by Priyjah's brother in law and was attended by their nearest and dearest. There was a moment when I had to step away from the ceremony. I felt like I was intruding on a personal family moment and you could literally feel the love in the air.

The dreary wet weather this week has had me reminiscing about the heatwave this time last year.

Can you believe that this wedding was in London? Shalini and Brundan wanted to bring the tropics to the capital and opted for this gorgeous manavarai, adorned with tropical leaves and brightly coloured anthuriums.

I definitely had one of those pinch moments last month when I got to meet backstage at his concert in Germany. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would ever have the chance, but thanks to his dearest mother Lakshmi Aunty I had the opportunity to do so.

Thanks for your kindness and invitation Aunty and the concert was definitely the highlight of my year. The concert was out of this world and the atmosphere was truly electric.

I was lucky enough to work with two Italian brides last year with Francesca being one of them.

Francesca & Pragash’s love story is a beautiful tale, the Sri Lankan and the Italian who met in England. Prasgash was working on his phD, so it was only Francesca that I dealt with throughout the planning process.

I was amazed at how much time she had taken to learn about the Tamil culture and our traditions and the ceremony was a reflection of how much she and her family had embraced the Tamil culture.

The intimate wedding ceremony and reception took place on the stunning grounds of Northbrook Park and all I can say is that everything about this day was perfect.

Pictures speak a thousand words and this is one is my favourite.

There are various combinations of musicians you can choose for your Hindu Ceremony. Rey & Jena chose to have a traditional ensemble of two Nadaswaram and two Thavil players. I often feel that this combo creates the feeling of a temple wedding in any venue. ⠀

Rey opted for unconventional yet stunning linen saris for the bridesmaids which she found online. She paired them with beautiful purple silk polyester blouse material to complement her manavarai sari and we think the end result was just beautiful. ⠀

She also decided on no necklace as the girls had boat neck blouses, but went for matching jewellery with a pearl waistchain, a delicate headpiece and beautiful jhumkas. ⠀

TYING OF THE THAALI

As he reaches around her neck to tie the sacred thread, there's a moment of stillness and anticipation. There's the flutter of the heartbeat and I'm holding my breath. Standing there is one of my closest friends and his beautiful wife. I've seen him through uni, climb through the ranks in his career and now about to become a husband.

A picture speaks a thousand words, but it only captures the moment and boy have we been on a journey.

A WINTER ROMANCE

Many couples crave a Summer wedding. The gorgeous sunshine, heat and bright colours. Who can blame them, but I do love a Winter wedding though. There are generally fewer weddings in the calendar, suppliers are more readily available and you're also not sweating profusely. Yes it's cold, it gets darker sooner and the leaves will be falling off the trees, but use these to your advantage. I can't get over these stunning tones which compliment Manu's saree so well. Mother nature is always the best backdrop.
