The South Sudan National Examination Board has released the results of the 2023 examinations, and the news is not encouraging for many students. Out of the 444,000 students who sat for the exams, only 26,440 managed to pass. This dismal pass rate highlights the challenges faced by the education system in the country.

The Minister of General Education and Instruction, Awut Deng Acuil, announced the results yesterday, emphasizing the need for students to work harder and improve their performance in the future. She also noted that the government is committed to improving the quality of education in the country, including providing more resources and training for teachers.

The high failure rate is a cause for concern, as it indicates that many students are not receiving an adequate education. The government and educational institutions must work together to address these issues and ensure that all students have access to quality education. This includes improving infrastructure, providing adequate learning materials, and ensuring that teachers are properly trained and supported.

In the meantime, students who have failed the exams will have to retake them or find alternative paths to achieve their educational goals.
