World Su***de Prevention Day Today

Su***de has a taboo around it and almost seems like a dirty word and people don't want to talk about it, I think we need to talk about it, some times talking about it helps to deal with some of the issues.

Around the area South Lakes Area recently there has been way to many life's lost to early, and lot of people's life have been affected 💔 my own included.

I know when you are feeling low, you become good at hiding it, we never really know how someone is feeling, but if you are feeling low, please please please talk to someone about it, family , friend a professional, me or any of the Sub:Stance and BUMS family

We ride a wave through life of highs and lows, you may be lows at the moment but it's important stick around for them highs to come back.

Akse P19 smashing it again with this mural down in Manchester for world su***de prevention day, (today)

My portrait of Ian Curtis based on the original photograph by has finally been completed on time for World Su***de Prevention Day 2023 (today 10th September). Its theme “Creating Hope Through Action” serves as a reminder that there is an alternative to su***de by providing hope to those who are struggling with suicidal thoughts. The original mural was painted in support of SHOUT , a free mental health text messaging service, so we’re glad we have managed to reinstall the mural at a perfect location, the , one of Manchester’s best-loved indie music venue. A big thanks to , and his team, for their support in making this happen 🙏

*** Big Squid Announcement *** she's only gone and blagged a set with her favourite band Dutty Moonshine Big Band for their "Villian" album tour at the Kanteena on the 21st of October

She will be gracing the decks as change over DJ between the support act and Dutty Moonshine, getting the crowd hyped up with her normal madness, ready for the main show.

Quite a few people are coming down from Barrow and we're thinking of all chipping in to book a coach down, if you are thinking of coming down and fancy jumping on a boogie bus let me know.

Such a loss for the world, anyone who has came to any of our events at B.U.M.s will know KL as being a bright vibrant ball of energy who brought joy to everyone she met.

If anyone can spare a few quid to help give KL the final gig she deserves, it would be greatly appreciated.

(Money will go towards funeral costs and if there is any left it will be given to her daughter.)

Wow... Last night! What a belting session, every DJ on form and a packed out BUMS for the peak hours and beyond! Huge thanks to our ACME guests Cass & Gez for making the journey, and also Evie bringing fresh blood to the decks. Squid gets better all the time too.

Next up on the decks DUBWILD. After a recent trip to Kanteena for an Acme Bass Company night, I was blown away by Dubwild's set, so much we had to get him to come play a set for us, can't wait for this set.
