A belated happy birthday to my big 5 year old! I suppose it's fitting that this post is late as that is the reality of a birthday 5 days before Christmas! My sweet James, you made me a mama 5 years ago and changed my life forever! You are smart, creative, independent, empathetic and kind. You love your family more than anything and have such a big heart. Watching you grow into your own independent human being is bittersweet as I'm so proud, but also feel you becoming more detached from me as you find your way in the world. We love you so much, our sweet baby James!

Happy 2nd birthday, my sweet Samuel. You are just something else, my boy. You either make me pull my hair out or melt my heart into a puddle. No in between. I can't wait to see what this next year brings as we start to learn what's actually going on in the funny mind of yours. These memories needed a permanent spot on the feed 🏝️ 🍹 🛥️ In 2019, my parents gifted the family a cruise for Christmas. But then Covid hit and after 2 reschedules, we had to cancel it. But once cruises were up and running like normal again, we found a window where we were all free (and I wasn't pregnant or breastfeeding) to try again! (Just missing my brother, Arthur, who had a work conflict last minute- boo!) And as a bonus, it left from Norfolk, so no flying! We had an absolute blast on the trip! And we left the kiddos at home, so it was a TRUE vacay for us! We did 3 stops in the Bahamas and enjoyed white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. On the boat we ate ourselves to death and I took every opportunity to wear real non-mom clothes. We had a pretty bumpy final leg of the trip and we STILL have sea legs! I swear our house is rocking 🤪 But it was still an awesome time and I'm so glad we finally made it happen 3+ years later!

The sweet boys the made me a mama. All the feels this Mother's Day as we set sail on a week long cruise while the littles hang back on the mainland with grandparents. Looking forward to a week off, but also looking forward to being reunited!

And just like that, 17 months flew by and another breastfeeding journey has come to a close. I'll never take for granted the countless hours of sweet moments I've had with both my boys. And I'm honored that I've been able to donate to several other mamas in need. I know I'm one of the lucky ones to have been able to nourish my babies for this long with minimal pumping required. No matter how you choose to or end up nourishing your baby, every journey is full of its highs and lows and sweet and difficult moments. Thank you to for catching these feeding breaks during our sessions. Looking back on these moments brings me so much joy. 🥰🥹

Oh, my sweet sweet Samuel. Today you are 1 and I don't know how we got here so fast. There's just something about that 2nd baby. When you are already a somewhat 'seasoned' mama, you actually get to enjoy those baby snuggles and squishy cheeks rather than being overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to take care of a baby. But it's also true what they say about those second kiddos being wild! I have a feeling I'll be getting all the steps in trying to keep up with you this next year. Happy birthday, my sweet boy. You are simply the best ❤️❤️
