I am so excited to be engaged and started planning for a 2024/2025 wedding - still unsure due to finances.

I always imagined having 6 bridesmaids but I am really struggling to pick between 2 girls. One of them I am closer with but she is really unreliable and always lets me down with plans + she also now lives 4 hours away from me. The other girl I am slightly less close to but she’s been a good friend to me and she’s very proactive and always makes an effort even though she also lives 4 hours away.

I feel like the general advice online has been it’s good to get bridesmaids who will be very involved.

They have both indicated to me that they are excited/expecting to be in the bridal party so I know feelings are going to be hurt.

I am the first one from my friends to be engaged so this is new to us all. Any advice?
