Amy & Colin take the record for my fastest booking ever—within two hours after we met! And just five days later, we were capturing their engagement session. 🖤✨

Their energy was absolutely contagious, and I couldn’t help but relate to their love story. After over a decade together, they initially considered eloping but ultimately decided that celebrating with their closest friends and family was the right choice. Now, their wedding at The Magnolia Brookside this September is going to be something truly special.

Katie & Eric’s wedding day was nothing short of magical! ✨ From a cozy, personalized morning at home to a breathtaking celebration at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and a stunning reception at The Madrid Theater, every detail was perfectly curated. 🌿💍

Their forest green color scheme was timeless, and Eric’s NFL Eagles cufflinks were the perfect nod to his team spirit—even though the Chiefs took an L, Eric was still winning on his wedding day. 🏈😆 Katie put so much thought into the details, from her gorgeous bridal accessories to the custom embroidered bridesmaid bags she gifted her girls.

We braved the chilly temps at The Nelson-Atkins Museum for some stunning newlywed portraits, and special shoutout to the bridesmaids who toughed it out in the cold! Fingers could not be felt, but the photos were SO worth it. 🥶📸

The Madrid Theater was elegantly dressed to the nines, featuring a live painter and a killer band that kept the night going. With so many loved ones traveling in, Katie & Eric truly gave their guests the best Kansas City wedding experience. 💛🎶

Shannon & Paul’s wedding at The Magnolia at Brookside was the perfect blend of intimate, stylish, and full of personality—just like them! ✨ From the moment we bonded over tabletop RPGs and all things nerdy, I knew we were going to have the BEST time capturing their day. (If you love video games, board games, books, or any fandoms…we’re already friends. 😉)

They proved that you don’t need over-the-top décor to make a wedding feel magical—the energy of their friends and family, plus their sweet personal touches, made the entire day unforgettable. 💛 Shannon even designed all of their signage herself (how cool is that?!), and their centerpieces featured photos of them throughout the years—such a simple yet meaningful touch. And to top it all off, they continued their tradition of taking seasonal photos at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, now adding wedding portraits to their collection! 🍂📸

Jordon & Britton’s wedding at Oakwood Country Club was a dream! ✨ From their private letter reading before the ceremony (cue all the happy tears 😭) to their breathtaking florals and golden sunset portraits, their day was filled with the sweetest moments.

Oakwood Country Club is such a stunning and versatile venue—its timeless architecture and natural light create the perfect backdrop for any couple’s unique vision. For Jordon & Britton, it was all about intimate moments, vibrant colors, and soaking in every second together. Their love for each other radiated through every part of the day, and I feel so lucky to have captured it!

Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day weekend, and for Katie & Eric, it’s extra special—they’re just days away from saying ‘I do!’ 💍❤️ Their engagement session was a perfect reflection of their love story, starting in the comfort of their home and ending with dreamy golden hour moments at Loose Park. And of course, their sweet Westie pup, Blaise, made an appearance too! 🐾✨

Blaise was the best little model during their session, and I can’t wait to see him again as he makes a special appearance at their wedding this weekend! In just a few days, these two will be officially husband and wife, and I cannot wait to capture the magic of their day!

Want to know what I'm a fan of? A first dance where your guests aren't all seated watching you while stuffing their face with dinner, but invited to surround you closely so they can be fully present for this beautiful moment.

Riley and Cooper used their first dance as the transition into the party after dinner and Cooper was not afraid to pick up Riley any chance he got to spin her around, no matter who was in their way. It kept all their guests on their, toes!

Personally I did this with my husband on our wedding day as well, but we opted to do our first dance right after our ceremony.

Some moments are so special, they feel like the world stands still. For Shannon and Paul, their first look was one of those moments. 💕

It was Shannon’s idea to include their closest friends in this intimate exchange, but from the second Paul turned around, it was as if no one else was in the room. Shannon was giddy with excitement, while Paul’s emotions took over as he held back tears, kissed her hands, and simply took her in. 🥹 Their friends watched quietly, sharing in their joy, and laughing gently when Shannon and Paul couldn’t help but giggle through their tears.

As a photographer, it was incredible to witness two people so completely in the moment—eyes only for each other, love radiating in every glance and touch.

Family photos are such an important part of your wedding day, but they don’t have to be stressful! With the right approach, they can be quick, easy, and meaningful. I joke this is when I'm the most bossiest during your wedding day, but then I'm able to get your formal photos done within 30 minutes or less by following this guide!

I share what I tell every single one of my couples when it comes to their family photos such as:

✅ Keeping your photo list under 25 groupings.
✅ Staying together as a couple during photos.
✅ Communicating with family ahead of time.

“Some love stories are tested by storms, and this one faced the ultimate test—literally. ❄️💨”

When Emma and James planned their wedding, they dreamed of a day filled with love, laughter, and a room full of their favorite people celebrating not only their wedding, but their anniversary. What they didn’t plan for was a surprise blizzard that would keep many guests from attending. 💔

Instead of the big crowd they’d imagined, their intimate group of 25 rallied together to celebrate a love that could weather any storm.

Their day became a testament to resilience, adaptability, and love that shines brighter than any storm. 🌨️✨

To Emma and James, I'm sorry your day was not how it you imagined it. But I'm still grateful I was there to witness the love you have for each other and your families, even though we had to cut things short. Your strength and love inspired me deeply. Here’s to making the best of unexpected circumstances and finding beauty in the unplanned. ❄️❤️
