Pop Rocket Trivia will be at Pine Hill Tavern tonight at 7P with host Danny Norbury and a guaranteed Big Bomber Jackpot of at least $500. We've heard several people giving correct guesses, so chances are it goes tonight! On the off chance that it doesn't, anyone who shows up tonight and participates in the drawing will get 2x the entries for the remainder of the drawing!!

FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME

As the first ever Pop Rocket Trivia event launched in our official Pine Hill Tavern HQ, the crowd of friendly faces, faces that I have come to know and love over the past 10 months, did little to ease the nervousness. I once again felt the mounting stage fright of a first timer. Even though I knew I was running a better product than has ever been run before, to a crowd that has taken me in as family, the fear was real.

But as the competition got underway, I felt my self swept up into the game as always, and what a game it was. There was never a safe haven for any team. Nearly every one of the 18 teams in attendance held the top spot for a question or two.

And teams were hellbent on getting that inaugural win, so they pulled out all the stops. There were Dancing & Signing bonuses awarded, Secret Questions answered, and Playing Card bonuses traded in. Sorry We're Late did all three in pursuit of the W.

But as the Rocket Round wore on and the Speed Bonuses fell like rain, it looked like we would have to listen to Stroup retell the glorious saga of the first win over and over in the coming weeks, months, decades. Fortunately, the Wager Question saved us from that fate and, instead, handed it to a team that moved from the bottom of the ranks to act as spoiler.

Congrats to Don't Give Up. My man was a solo team who was barely beating our fake Team Whammy until his quick witted determination in the Rocket Round catapulted him to 1st. Also congrats to Taco Twos-Day who was fairly competitive all night but who really turned it on by winning the wager question. And a traditional PHT Warm Round of Applause to A Couple of Ladies (one of our newest regulars) for lifting themselves from the bottom of column two to a respectable 3rd place finish.

Also honorable mention to team Mystery Inc. for sussing out the secret horse racing theme that literally had everyone else stumped.

And once again, thank you to owner Tim of Tim, Tony, and T**s fame for giving Pop Rocket Trivia a venue and to all the regulars who have made that venue our HOME.
