Joshua Ryan was the eldest son of Mr. He was born on 24th August 1990. His school life started in St Xavier’s, La Salle Penang. He finished his secondary School education in SMK St Xavier’s Institution, Penang. Joshua’s ambition has always been to b
e a successful lawyer to help the needy. To start his journey of becoming a lawyer, he entered Form 6. Soon after that, he received an offer to study in the famous University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to further his studies in law. In 2010, Joshua entered UKM. He managed to win everyone’s heart throughout his studying life in UKM. He had a respected personality that everyone adored and he was also a very humble human being. He never put his self needs first in anything he did in any matter. Joshua Ryan was also a very helpful and generous person. His lovable personality made him a sweetheart among all his friends and lecturers in UKM. Besides that, he also participated in co-curricular activities like the Catholic Student Society UKM (CSSUKM) and also was active in marathons like Compassion Walk. Unfortunately on 4th of December 2011, Joshua was involved in a tragic accident in Kuala Lumpur that separated him from all his loved ones. Joshua Ryan passed away in the accident. His death was a huge loss for every single person who knew him and left a scar in everyone’s heart. In honor of Joshua Ryan, the law faculty in UKM has honored his memories and good deeds by creating an award under his name and awarded it to an individual in the university that has similar respected personality like the late Joshua Ryan. The student who received this award is Hasanudin Yusof, a fourth year student in the law faculty. Pertubuhan Kebajikan Joshua Ryan Pulau Pinang (Joshua Ryan Welfare Organization Penang) was officially formed on the 22nd of June 2012. The president of this organization is the mother of the late Joshua Ryan, Madam Regina Peter. This organization is to help anyone in need, particularly, the education of students, orphanages, old folk homes and cancer institutions. The first activity to raise funds for the organization was a huge success. The team of Joshua Ryan Welfare Organization Penang organized a charity concert which was named JR Charity Concert 2012. We held the concert on the 24th of August 2012 at Dewan Sri Pinang. The main artist that performed that night was the Malaysian sensation, Reshmonu.
