Bouquet with human for scale. I enjoy how that brick wall talks to the rusty colors of the Sahara rudbeckia. Photo by
This size of dramatic bouquet starts at $200 at Studio Fleuraison. Does that sound about right or are you surprised? Check out how the pricing breaks down. đđ»
The pricing isnât just pulled out of thin air or artificially inflated for wedding use. It works like this:
- $125 worth of flowers (and for sure the bridal bouquet gets the fanciest flowers on my order, like the garden roses here). This is the retail cost, and includes all the things that keep flowers happy: getting ordered at the right moment, refrigeration, water, food, gentle handling etc.
- $10 of ribbon for a simple handle
- about an hour of focused labor by a lead designer (likely me!) who has spent years acquiring their design skills. Around $50
- a small profit for the business ($15) so we can continue to invest in training/advertising, rent, and all the normal things a job pays for.
So thatâs how it adds up! Pricing varies of course, and the most common reasons are variations in designer experience/skill and the types of flowers chosen. Garden roses are about $12 each at retail cost, standard roses come in between $3 and $6, while carnations (which by the way, I ADORE for their form and frilliness!) are more like $1.75 each.
