Salomon Xreid - Den siste dans

Salomon Xreid handler om opplevelser. Vi har krysset vidder og fjell gjennom 10 år. Nå skal vi mimre og feire oss selv litt. Vi har derfor gleden av å invitere alle som har vært med på Xreid gjennom årene, eller andre som bare vil henge med bra folk, til et siste sprell i Oslo den 28.okt.

Vi starter med en sosial joggetur med utgangspunkt fra Sognsvann kl 12:00. Vår partner Salomon stiller med sko som kan te**es om en ønsker. Oppmøte ved bommen ved parkeringen. Vi tar også med siste rest av finisher trøyer - muligheter til å gjøre et kupp :-)

Kl 20 har vi leid Kiosken bar - vi spanderer litt bobler på de første som kommer.. Baren har alle rettigheter så det burde finnes noe for enhver. Vi har lokalet alene frem til kl 22, så her er det bare å møte opp og dele de beste minnene fra løpene. Vi håper du har lyst og mulighet til å bli med på avrunde Xreid eventyret sammen med oss!

Part of ending the Xreid journey is going through the inventory building up during the decade. It is not easy to estimate how many will complete our challenges and enter the exclusive group of Frender. Thus, we have some finisher shirts that the heroes should wear, sorry, Frender out there.

We have set up a small pop-up web shop to ease the logistics. So now all Frender can stock up on t-shirts, wear them with pride and utilize the bragging rights in the years to come. Probably needless to say, but you can only buy a shirt from the year you actually finished :-)

Salomon Xreid 2023 ventured through Trollheimen. The last adventure in the series of ten proved a worthy challenge for the 214 participants - 135km with more than 5000 D++ in wet and rainy conditions. But when going gets thought - the thought gets going and memories are made!

Thanks for ten years of great memories!

Special thanks to Salomon and Red Bull for their dedicated support throughout our 10-year project.

Also thanks to Espegard Norge for the great fireplaces that were a very welcomed addition when the weather we got this year.

Friday 30th of June @ 12:00 the final edition of Salomon Xreid kicks off at Storli. Participants will adventure through Trollheimen and cross the finish line i Oppdal.

The response to the Salomon Xreid 2023 event has been outstanding. We just passed 200 participants signed up to join us in Trollheimen. This means that we are getting close to our max limit! 🤩

The final Salomon XREID will be hosted in Trollheimen.

The current route, subject to minor adjustments, is approximately 130km and 5500D++. It contains everything Trollheimen offers, from beautiful valleys, high mountain terrain, and a spectacular ridge.

Registration will open Wednesday 14th of Dec. Race manual will be posted shortly.

We hope to see both old Frender and new runners at the start as we end this chapter of the XREID saga.

The 10th and final Salomon Xreid will be hosted from 30th June to 2nd July 2023.

We are currently awaiting the permissions needed, but as soon as we get them - we are eager to share the final location.

We hope to see old and new Frender on our last adventure.

X for ten, REID old Norwegian for travel or journey. Ten Experiences. A hidden message, a small hint - built into the name itself. With only two races left of the XREID experience, we thought it was time to include everyone in our small secret. Now only two remain, one obviously next year’s location – the last a more curiosity that will be shared after the final race.

Looking back to 2012 when we started the planning of XREID, we wanted to create our dream race, a unique experience. In addition, we wanted to rock up the ultra-terrain running scene in Norway. Back then, we counted roughly 10 races that would classify as ultras. We built a plan with three different personas and a clear communications plan using amazing pictures and video to position XREID on the international scene. Now the situation has changed significantly. We have lots of great and interesting races hosted in great locations. We shall not take credit for this, but we are appreciative that at least we have positively nudged some organizers towards creating some of these amazing races.

With the cat out of the bag, we are really looking forward to Salomon Xreid Rylfyke this year – and to plan the final race. We hope to see both old Frender and new faces at the final starting lines.

We know you want more info 😉 So here is the route with the elevation curve. Also some pictures from the first part of the course courtesy of local runner and frende Rune Eie.

As you see it is a demanding route, a few sections without a path, but in really nice terrain and some truly epic views.

Approx 125km
Approx 7500D++ (subject to chosen route on the section without paths)

Pretty certain it will be an epic run.

For the 9th edition of Salomon Xreid we are traveling to Ryfylke, South West of Norway. Starting in Årdal and finishing in Jørpeland after roughly 115km and 7K D++. Along the route, you will experience epic views like the spectacular Prekestolen. More info to come shortly so stay tuned!

Salomon Xreid 2021: My world

Femunden national park was the venue for the 8th edition of Salomon Xreid. 115km and 2700 D++. Once again we were blessed with nice weather and it was really nice to meet new participants and old frender after a special year and uncertainty.
