Disc Gauntlet's main objective is to grow disc golf in the state of Nebraska.

Disc Gauntlet is a disc golf events promoter operated by Jake Hedden PDGA # 114451, Vail Erickson PDGA #51651, Chris Holton PDGA # 113526, & Jesie Kohl PDGA # 125146. We do this by hosting events with the local communities assistance to showcase some of Nebraska's hidden gems. Disc Gauntlet strives to provide a unique tournament experience to players of all skill levels. We also are always on the loo

With the purchase of 18 matching baskets this year we have several baskets available for purchase. These would make great practice baskets and can be used for temp course set ups as well.
We have (5) Dynamic Discs Recruits, (3) DGA Mach V's and (5) Chainstar Lites (2 Silver, 1 Blue, 1 Red & 1 Black). Let us know if you're interested in any of these!

The podcast is finally back. I got a chance to talk to Vail about disc golf, who would have thought?

For those of you who listen, I figure I will just break the news to you now. I will no longer be hosting the podcast after this year. We have a couple episodes left. Our next episode will go back and pay homage to one of our most listened to episodes to date. So stay tuned.

The final one I will host will have the entire ownership on to give an end of the year review, while previewing some of the major things to come for next year. I look forward to recording two great conversations over the next couple of months.

But don't fret, the podcast may stick around next year. That info will come in the next month or two. Take care, and hopefully I see you on the course soon.

The temp course at the Hastings Elks Golf Course is set and ready to play with some minor details to be finished (stringing golf greens and finishing tee signs). Course is flagged, white flags represent OB, and orange flags represent hazard areas.

Lake Hastings is set up for the most part, besides an "island" being painted for hole #3 and some flagging to be done. The layout is set for B pool's tomorrow morning round.

The weather is great, so get out for a practice round and enjoy the courses.

20th Annual Take the Lake information:

Practice rounds at Hastings Elks Golf Course will be available on Friday starting at noon. The cost will be $10 for the day. Carts will be available for $5 a person, with a max of two people to a cart.

The front nine of the golf course will be closed for disc golfers. There are a couple areas where you will not be able to take the cart. Please read the signs and get out and walk to where you need to for that particular hole.

On Saturday meals will be available at the golf course for $5 if you would like to purchase a meal at a good price. You get a hamburger, bag of chips, and pop/soft drink.

You can search for the temp course on UDisc by searching for Hastings Elks Golf Course. The course says it is unavailable and under construction. That will change tonight so it should be available tomorrow by noon.

Attached is a tentative map for the temp course at the 20th Annual Take the Lake. The temp course will be at Hastings Elks Golf Course. Hole information will be available soon. Each pool will play one round at the course.

A majority of the holes require navigating the trees that are available on the golf course, and staying safe of the OB(water and golf greens) and hazard(golf tees). There is a par 4 water carry, multiple tight greens, and a 900ft par 5 that keeps you down a wide, but guarded fairway.

It is looking like it will be a nice and warm weekend next weekend for the 20th Annual Take the Lake.

Thanks to our sponsors, we have an added cash of $1500 to the amatuer field, and $1500 to the professional field. This is the largest payout purse to date for Take the Lake.

We have also secured a low cost lunch on Saturday at Hastings Elks Golf Course. For $5 you can get a hamburger, bag of chips, and pop. Keep lunch simple by getting lunch at the golf course and relax in the clubhouse in between rounds

Don't miss out on The 20th Annual Take the Lake in Hastings, a staple for Nebraska disc golf! Join us next month on October 12th and 13th for a three round, B-Tier event.

A thanks goes out to the Adams County Convention and Visitors Bureau for sponsoring the event, and making it the largest combined payout for pros and ams.

$1500 added prize money for the amatuer field
$1350 (minimum) added prize money for the pro field

Two rounds will be played on Saturday, with tee times for the single round on Sunday. On Saturday two pools will play both Lake Hastings, and the temporary course at The Elks Golf Course. On Sunday, tee times will kick off in the morning at Lake Hastings, for a more challenging round.
