She's also a Project Manager who, 5 years ago, decided to create parties for an older crowd. So she put her love for music and planning skills to good use and Bristol based House and Techno Club Night Minotaur Sound was born. Catchi has

hybrid Latinx and English roots and was brought up on obscure Latin American music and Moog laden synths both which heavily influences her music taste. Her signature sound veers between cosmic, trippy techno to cheeky house and nu-disco. She’s a lover of slow techno (schneckno) for musical storytelling and she’s been working hard to bring her sound to Shambala and Together Festivals and is also a resident for LGBTQ+ club night Dolce Vita Bristol. Catchi has supported Alex Banks from Ninja Tune, Butch Queen and Maxxi Soundsystem. She promises to make everyone dance, no matter what music denomination they follow and, in a male dominated field, she pushes for more women on line-ups. She co-hosts the Minotaur Sound show every other Saturday from 4-6pm GMT on Foam Radio.

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to cancel all of my summer gigs for 2024. I’m waiting to get a full hysterectomy and dealing with a potential ovarian cancer diagnosis. Will let you know more as soon as I find out.

What a ball we had tonight on the show on …big love and thanks to everyone who tuned in.

The exciting thing about B2B live mixes is the sense of anticipation and surprise as you have no idea what you’re going to play or what path you’re going to follow. Beats can get a bit muddled and it’s not always plain sailing but oh my it’s a ride! We kept each other on our toes. So much fun and can’t wait to do it again. From pearls to sequins to headphones

The photo to the left was taken in 2001 back when I was 29, though with the pearl necklace and pastel outfit I look more like 56. Two pretty daughters sit on my knee. Forward wind to 2018 - same daughters but this time we’re in Bristol, we’re in sequins and we were headed to an Alfresco Disco to party like there was no tomorrow. It’s like a contemporary Cinderella story that takes you from Vogue to Crack Magazine. I posted these photos up on my instagram recently and couldn’t quite believe the totally epic journey that it’s taken me (us - daughters included) to get to where I am now.

I’ve come a long way from being on the verge of joining the W.I. and have gladly swapped knitting needles for glowsticks, jam making for DJing and have never looked back. Now I run my own clubnight in Bristol called Minotaur Sound. I got tired of going to disorganised nights where they didn’t quite play the music that I liked. I’ve drawn upon Jean Michelle Jarre, Jeff Wayne and Moog influences and created a sound that I love to play out. Now I’m playing at Shambala Festival and in and around Bristol. I also produce some of my own tracks with my partner Stefan Goodchild under the Catchi & Token moniker.

I love playing what I want to dance to most - it’s really that simple. I’m passionate about gender equality on lineups and am always happy to give women (or those who identify with female) a platform to manifest their art and identity x
