Roots: Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, Chef Samone’s first memory of cooking was with her Grandmother and Dad at the age of 9. Coming from a long line of family members who served in the United States Military; most of them enlisting in the Marines, Chef Samone has a huge passion for those who serve. At age 18 she enlisted into the US Army as a Food Specialist and was eventually stationed in Germany. There she was exposed to kitchen management, food service, and cooking for large quantities of people.
Education & Experience: She later studied Hospitality Management & Tourism and also graduated from Le Cordon Bleu with a degree in Culinary Arts. After completing her studies, Chef Samone gained a solid foundation in international cuisine by working in various restaurants throughout the Central Florida area. While working in the kitchen, Samone gained the realization that she was more passionate about interacting with guests and creating dining expeirences, than being behind the line.
A Low Point: In 2004 Chef Samone became homeless and when the business was just starting to take off, she experienced rocky times personally and professionally; she later wrote about it in her spiritual memoir Lily In The Valley published in 2007.
The Come Back: After remarrying in 2010 the road to rebuilding Wishful Concepts Catering in Central Florida began and Chef Samone was inspired to focus her passion for culinary. Together, Chef Samone and her husband built a new version of Wishful Concepts that provided a “one-stop shopping experience” for catering clients. Having built her first brick and mortar establishment debt free, Samone built her first catering facility in 2014.
