While it's easy to get caught up in the stress of this time, connection is something we value because of this. We encourage our couples to take time to connect outside of planning; taking time to date where wedding talk is OFF LIMITS, celebrating little wedding planning wins like sending out your save-the-dates, etc. This builds a stronger relationship and conveys the real reason behind all the work going into this day.

Let’s be real… your coordinator/planner will be the closest vendor to you through your wedding planning process. We wear many hats, from therapist, to designer, to family wrangler, and while we wouldn’t have it any other way, we want couples that are going to be themselves. This only allows us to be ourselves, and when that Is allowed on both ends, that is where the magic happens.

This word has grown very popular, especially after the two years we just had.

When it comes to a wedding, we want couples that value intentionality. And we aren’t just talking about time. We are talking about the care and handling of their details, keeping a shared goal in making decisions that represent their relationship and what’s important to them, not just to impress their guests.

Trust us - when spending money for your day, spend it on things that will be worthwhile to you, your partner and your guests. Not stuff that makes you look richer than you are, or the hottest trend just because it’s popular. Do what matters to you. You’ll be glad you did.

Example: Jackie and Manny have a shared love for Lalapalooza so she surprised him with this theme for their wedding day design. From the es**rt display, to the table names, every detail was intentional to the special memories they had together and their love of music. She also surprised him with Star Wars figurines on the back of their wedding cake. Such a small detail that made for such a big reaction. This is what we love! After many years of experience in this industry, we’ve had to face tough decisions in order to grow, make our value known, and determine the direction in which we are headed. We’ve worked with couples from all backgrounds, races, religions and lifestyles, coming to find that these values are what make the difference in the experience had and offered. If these aren’t you, we may not be a fit, but that’s ok. We’ll expand on our importance for each of these over the next week, but values are something to definitely keep in mind when considering a planner that’s right for you. Team GPE is lucky enough to have 2 weddings at Rancho Las Lomas this month alone! We never turn down an opportunity to do a wedding here and while it's often filled with an extreme amount of tracked steps at the end of the night, it's also always a blast.

To veil or not to veil 👰‍♀️👰‍♀️...that's today's question for our (I know we’re a day late lol)

We have noticed more recently that veils aren't as common as they once were, especially when it comes to blushers (a.k.a. the part of a veil that covers the face). While they may not be for everyone, you can't deny that veil shots like this one are AMAZING. Plus, when it comes to a first look, a veil can be a special add-on right before the ceremony, keeping an element of surprise for couples as they walk down the aisle. Dropping another this week and we are talking about speeches!

UNPOPULAR OPINION WARNING: This in no way reflects our views of our current or prospective couples and absolutely should not cause you to change your wedding plans.

Who thinks speeches at weddings should be totally nixed? We might 😬🙈 but if you disagree, that’s ok…just hear us out…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We feel like the best time to allow loved ones to give speeches is at the rehearsal dinner, and here’s why:
1: There isn’t a time limit. Speeches can be a big time suck during a reception, and while they can happen during dinner, they can often delay the party to come, and we often find couples just want to get the dancing started ASAP. Plus, you never know how long those speeches can go…
2: People get nervous. Take it from a gal that has given quite a few wedding speeches in her life; the build up and anticipation of every single wedding guest watching you fumble over tears and emotion can be grueling. To top it off, you want to ensure those giving speeches are coherent enough to give them, but when nerves and alcohol mix, you never know what you’re gonna get.
3: So much more love. When you allow for toasts/speeches during your rehearsal dinner, more people close to you have the freedom to share their words. During the wedding, we have to keep this limited due to time, but in this setting, all are welcome.

When we asked you what you wanted to see more of, you answered THE DETAILS/DESIGN. So to compliment this week's from Tuesday, here is another design detail from Marina & Oscar's wedding.

The rose gold flatware, iridescent textured glassware, mini disco balls & colorful linens all were hand picked to create the "Pretty in Pink" theme. We even made the napkin rings and hand folded each one of these the night before (by we, I mean Rachel and I from the comfort of our hotel room). The things we do for our couples...& the details 😅😅

To do a first look or to not do a first look…that is the question for this week’s
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The first look is still such a tough decision for some couples, and we are here to help aid in this decision if it’s something you're wrestling with.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ll start by saying that we understand both sides. Nothing beats the look shared between our couples when they see each other walking down the aisle for the first time. But we will say, that look doesn’t change whether it’s done before-hand or during the ceremony. Here are some things to consider:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⭐️ If you have a large family or a strong desire to join cocktail hour, consider doing a to get a lot of photos done and out of the way prior to the ceremony. It frees up the time we would need to take photos immediately after the ceremony while all of your guests head to the party.
⭐️ If you are doing a winter wedding, keep in mind that you will be shorter on daylight, so getting your portraits done pre-ceremony while you still have ample daylight ensures we get all the photos you’ll want. Opt for a here.
⭐️ If doing a summer wedding (in Cali, especially), skipping a can be a plus, giving you less time to have to do photos during the hottest time of the day. We also have way more daylight to play with after the ceremony for both family photos and portraits if we want it.
