CHIPILI TOWN COUNCIL PROCURES A FUEL BOWSER

Chipili Town Council recently procured a 3,000L capacity Fuel Bowser which comes along with an electric powered pump at a total cost of K325,000 under the 2022 Constituency Development Fund -CDF- allocation for Chipili Constituency.

The Council Secretary, Mr. Alex Zulu said that, ''The procurement of the Fuel Bowser was necessitated by the lack of a fuel station within the district which prompts the Local Authority to procure fuel in Mansa District thereby delaying the delivery of services to the community.

He further added that, as the Local Authority is anticipating the receipt of Earth moving equipment procured under 2023 and 2024 -CDF- allocation, this initiative will enhance the lifespan of the equipment as well as institutional vehicles owing to a better and cleaner storage of fuel.

It will as well help the Local Authority to be more accountable in the management of fuels drawn since the institution vehicles will be refueling within the district he said.

CHARLES SIMUMBA ELECTED AS DEPUTY COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON

Nalupembe Ward Councillor Mr.Charles Simumba has been elected as the new Deputy Council Chairperson of Chipili District.

Mr. Simumba of the Patriotic Front (PF) polled 10 votes beating Councillor Ephraim Kalumbwa of Mumbwe Ward who polled 3 votes.

His Honor Mr. Simumba was elected during a special council meeting held in the Council Chamber on 3rd March, 2024.

Mr. Simumba was declared duly elected Deputy Council Chairperson by the returning officer Mr. Alex Zulu, who is the Chipili Council Secretary.

A total of 13 votes were cast with no rejected ballot.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

Chipili Town Council wishes to inform the general public within the boundaries of Chipili Constituency that the Local Authority is inviting applications for Secondary and Skills development Bursary Sponsorship under the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation for Chipili Constituency.

Interested applicants are hereby required to apply to the Local Authority through the Ward Development Committee in their respective wards, on or before Friday 9th February, 2024.

Note that, application forms can be obtained from the Civic Centre, Parliamentary Constituency office, Ward Development Committees or any public institution.
