Camellias from my garden and Welsh daffodil candle from my friend, which smells divine. Itâs about finding the beauty in the little things right? đş đŻď¸
I adore springtime flowers! Pic of a lovely bunch gifted by a friend and so happy to see the daff and iris bulbs I planted a while ago are coming out! Having got to middle age without having planted a bulb, I wasnât sure if they would! đź

I wish I could cut you out, keep you for myself,
Mend each of your frayed, uneven seams-
Stitch you onto calico, frame you on my shelf,
Embroider all those wayward dreams.

Yes, it may be a million pounds, or a PhD,
Awarded by the worldâs top university.
Perhaps itâs fame and a glittering career,
Savings and shares, that accrue year on year.
It can be a respected job of responsibility,
Using talents to the best of your ability.
Every accomplishment, fairly-earnt,
Achieved through grit, lessons learnt,
Surely deserves a âwell doneâ in recognition,
Each of us, on our own path and mission.
But success can also slip by in disguise,
Unacknowledged by societyâs eyes-
A conversation with a stranger, whom no one sees,
Unknowingly lifting them from their knees.
Or a heartfelt apology, heard with grace,
Transmuting this world, into a brighter place.
Tending a garden, of beauty and admiration,
That provides food, peace, or inspiration.
Reaching out, when youâve little left to give,
Dancing in the dark, seizing your joy to live.
The lands youâve seen, the friendships made,
The times youâve laughed, the plans youâve laid.
The children youâve taught, that kindness is essential,
Loved unconditionally, to reach their potential.
Reminding them to dream, to always believe,
That what lights them up, is their key to achieve.
Itâs keeping the faith, or working for a cure,
Moving forward, through everything you endure.
Painting a picture, that radiates from your soul,
Standing your ground, or reaching a goal.
Connecting to nature, ensuring animals are fed,
Silencing the negatives, camped out in your head.
Itâs finding the partner, who is just right for you,
Taking a chance, despite all youâve been through.
Maybe itâs helping a bee, find her strength again,
Uprighting the garden snails, after the rain.
Such magnificent acts, may not win accolades,
Go viral on the socials, reap endless praise-
Nevertheless, success isnât just one objective,
Itâs really a case, of gentle perspective.
So, any time you start to feel youâre lacking,
Are about to send your self-worth packing,
Consider for a moment, all the unsung deeds,
The ripples youâve started, the planted seeds.
Because energetically, youâre a cosmic super-star,
And our infinite universe, knows just who you are.

Hope everyone enjoyed the festivities and all the best for 2024! I like to have a little mantra each new year and this year, it is âletting goâ following on from a few conversations recentlyâŚone with a lovely, random lady I met during a hospital appointment this week, which reminded me to let go of what I thought my life âwouldâ or âshouldâ be like right now (and itâs quite cathartic). What are you looking forward to letting go ofâŚor maybe you have your own mantra for 2024? đ

đAutumn is an Ammoniteđ
Summerâs end, daylightâs retraction,
A rain, grey ending or call to action?
I feel the energy, in orange tree lines,
Read the leaves, and see the signs.
Hear it in crashing waves, midnightâs gales,
All of natureâs, forgotten fairytales.
The unstoppable forever-force, universal,
Discounted, ignored, controversial.
In tree roots, in veins, coursing unseen,
In sunset whispers, the echo of a dream.
Far more than the sum of you and me,
An ammonite: past; present; eternity.
Cool air shakes us, wakes us, to come alive,
Unleash our motivation, harness our drive.
A time of alignment, shadow reflection,
Balance our inner, outer connection.
This roaring spiral, flames burning,
This ancient chariot, wheels turning-
Never pausing to stop, to still, to wait,
For humanity to catch up, procrastinate.
Spinning faster, through each darker day,
Expanding, evolving, not here to stay.
While long shadows, cast light and shade,
Over seasons past, mistakes weâve made-
We fear dead-ends, blame destiny, fate,
Our hope blown away, itâs all too late-
And forget to remember, the ammoniteâs song,
Rotating by degrees, three sixty strong,
Reminding us in beautiful, operatic glory,
Of a vibrant, timeless, never-ending story.
The Earth is an alchemist, nothing truly dies,
This is just the beginning. Open your eyes.

Ilfracombe for a little Devon fam break over half-term. Apparently itâs a love it or hate it art piece, but I loved Damien Hirstâs 20.25 metre installation âVerityâ by the harbour side, symbolising truth and justice.
Feeling super-inspired and lucky to have spent an amazing few days in Jordan with my wonderful friend, Laura - to visit spellbinding Petra! Here we are in Amman, Petra and then somewhere very, very high up before we headed down, down, down to the Dead Sea. Such a wonderful trip!
Well itâs definitely a British summer! But itâs got drama! A Dorset field and a phone.đ§
So two little birds flew the nest this week..my son off at school camp and this little fledgling jackdaw (Jack), who left his nest before he could fly. We looked after him for a few days as he had to be rescued in the nick of time from cats when left alone. He was such a clever little fella and wanted to sit on us and follow us around - I was a bit worried he wouldnât want to leave. But he saw and connected with his parents every day as his wings grew strongerâŚthen very early the other morning, my husband took him outside and he perched on our front garden railingâŚI meanwhile was in bed but could hear his parents calling to him and looked out the window at the exact moment he took off and flew up together with his parents onto the church roof opposite. It was quite a proud, emotional moment! The three then flew off but he was spotted high-up soon after, being preened by his mum. Iâm glad heâs back in his flock but do miss his beaky little personality! âĽď¸ đŚ
Well that explains that! Happy Monday.

Having a break from poemsâŚ.as we are in Australia! Long overdue catch up with family in Melbourne and quick trip to Sydney to show the boys the sightsâŚmy eldest has asked to visit here for ages, but with life events etc taking over (as they always do), we havenât managed to get back all together, since we left here about eleven years ago!
