This post is very overdue! It took us awhile to collect our thoughts and find the words to pay proper tribute to a great man!

In remembrance of our dear friend, Gary Hufford. Gary's exuberance for life was infectious. He could cartwheel around people less than half his age! He was loved by many, from his neighbors in Old Town to the regulars at the restaurants he and George ran, and to the current staff at Cracked Pepper. Gary was a gifted storyteller, always ready with a laugh or a helping hand. As a bartender, he was unmatched—fast, efficient, knowledgeable, and always ready with a witty remark. Sometimes he was so quick witted that it was hard to find a rebuttal! His energy and spirit were boundless, and his absence is deeply felt. It's hard to believe he's gone, and we know many of us are still grappling with this loss. We will continue to celebrate and remember Gary with a smile in our hearts all year round, but the Cracked Pepper family has decided to designate January officially as Gary's month!
