🌱 Did you know that squash plants have both, male and female flowers? Let’s get to know the differences and benefits of each flower.

♂ Male Flowers will have very thin stems. Male flowers produce pollen which is important for the plant to grow.

♀ Female squash blossoms will be attached to the growing fruits of the plant. When the female flower is properly pollinated, they yield a bountiful harvest.

Male squash blossoms make for tasty culinary dishes. Harvest the first growing male squash blossoms early in the morning when the flowers are still open. Female flowers can be harvested as well but will reduce the yield of the plant.
