Barbwire & Roses Handmade leather items and costume accessories for larp, cosplay, film, theatre and roleplaying games.

Barbwire & Roses is a small company that creates handmade leather items. It is operated mostly as a ready-made items shop, with ready to ship stock. The webshop can be found at: barbwireandroses.etsy.com

Bespoke items are also an option, but slots are severly limited for completely custom items. Variations on existing designs are also possible and are generally easier to fit into the work schedule. All items are designed and created within the workshop in Apeldoorn, only for very large orders, an extra pair of hands may be employed, but under close scrutiny, to ensure quality levels. All leather is hand-picked and purchased in smaller quanitites, to ensure a good variation of colour and make certain our items are either unique, or produced in very small quantities, so you won’t find too many people walking around with your item. Besides leatherwork, there is a small of range props, also available through the webhop. Larp safe latex weapons are also offered, as a reseller of several British brands, at select events (see album here in FB for current stock).

Purchases from that I picked up on Monday. Some hat moulds to toy around with, flour bags to get creative with and turn into larp bags to carry around all your loot, a 'tablecloth' and although not pictured, I picked up a lovely folding chair as well.
I want to focus a little more on unique and quirky stuff for the shop, what do you think?

Bidding ends today for the fundraiser for Arthammer LARP Workshop to help them replace the windows in their workshop that got blasted out this summer... winter is coming!

At the moment both bids on the mystery clearance bags are still far under what they would normally set you back, so you might get a great deal too, besides providing some much needed support.

The advent(ure) calendars are once again available for pre-order as well as the '12 days of Xmas' D&D loot boxes.

The big Advent Calendar costs 425 euro and contains 24 bags.
The '12 days of Xmas' D&D loot box costs 100 euro and contains 12 bags.

Please order well on time, calendars are assembled early November!

The big LARP advent calendar consists of 24 bags with a wooden number tag and will be filled with appropriate goodies in a mix of handmade and some mass produced items. Shipping is included within the Netherlands plus one of those awesome big gift bags!

The '12 days of Xmas' D&D loot box contains 12 bags of loot, which is perfect for D&D lovers.
The main focus is dice with a mix of mass produced and handmade (raw) sets.
Use it in the traditional sense, open a bag every other day leading up to Christmas or unpack it at the gaming table with your friends

Upgrade your calendar option!
There is also the option to upgrade your 24 bag calendar to a more deluxe version, just let me know how much more you would like to spend and I will make certain some goodies with a higher price tag will be added to your calendar too.
Instead of spreading the love over various bags, there is of course also the option to add most of that extra funding to the final bag for an extra big gift.

So, what's inside the 24 bag calendar?
The pouches vary in size, depending on the loot that goes in. So besides the loot inside, you will also have a big collection of pouches afterward, always useful for larpers and dice hoarders!
On average each bag contains 17,50 euro worth of goodies, with a more expensive gift in the last bag.

P.S. I love making these calendars. They cost a fair amount of time to sort out, but I genuinely enjoy setting them up and collect bits and bobs from other larp traders as well. It can be a little tricky to fill up 24 bags for 17,50 euro each and keep some variety. Consider adding the extra budget, as it can make a big difference!

Another unboxing video! After working the summer larp events, I thought I should spoil myself a little... so I ordered a 100 euro loot box from Giusy Balzano Leather-Hides Eshop
It did not disappoint!
Most of these pieces will be used to craft new belt bags and give a nice variation of stock colours.
Very happy to have some extra sample flyers too, allows me to see and feel what is on the website.
The only thing that is of no use is the yellow thread, simply because I already have a big spool. So I would say that is a veru good haul! Very quick shipping as well.

Auction time! Support Arthammer LARP Workshop in rebuilding their workshop in time for winter.

You might remember the post I shared this summer from Arthammer? The one with the news a missile had hit the building right next to them?
It blew out all their windows and electrical needs rewiring, in order to get ready for a cold winter.

They are good friends of mine, so I am offering up my final 2 mystery clearance bags auction style.
Full proceeds will go to Arthammer!

Here on FB I am auctioning the 'white' bag. That is a hint towards some of the contents. Normally this bag would cost you 200 euro (and has over 300 euro in goodies when at regular price).

On Insta will be the auction for the 'red' bag.

They are good friends of mine and this is the first time I am seeing them reach out and ask for help for their workshop, despite the war going on for several years now.
You can donate through Paypal or purchase a support listing through Etsy. Donating directly through Paypal though, would be better because that saves on fees.

New bag! Forgot to post this up, but my new shoulder bag is finished.
When you are a fulltime crafter, crafting for yourself just doesn't really happen anymore (at least to me).
My young Tremere character recently became Sheriff in our local chronicle, which was a good excuse to finally craft something specifically for myself again. Her regular handbag just wouldn't fit a stake and a hammer.

I did a small run of cheeky un**es last year, both with a medieval marginalia bunny and more of a pirate theme.
I absolutely looooved creating these and have some fun with them.

Now I am considering doing some shirts, un**es and/or pirate trousers again. However, I am not sure.

The problem is that these type of items are a very difficult sell. People love them, but do you have the exact design AND size combination for them to actually make the purchase?

Any stock left unsold means I am financially out of pocket and my financial margins are already... tight.

I put some options in the photos with price guides.

Would you be interested? If yes, would you be interested in shirts? Un**es? Pirate/matey trousers?

Would there be interest in a pre-order?

I am open to suggestions.

P.s. shirts would be the same price range as matey trousers.
