Barbwire & Roses

Handmade leather items for larp, cosplay, film, theatre, reenactment and costume. Barbwire & Roses is a small company that creates handmade leather items.

It is operated mostly as a ready-made items shop, with ready to ship stock. The webshop can be found at: barbwireandroses.etsy.com

Bespoke items are also an option, but slots are severly limited for completely custom items. Variations on existing designs are also possible and are generally easier to fit into the work schedule. All items are designed and created within the workshop in Apeldoorn,

only for very large orders, an extra pair of hands may be employed, but under close scrutiny, to ensure quality levels. All leather is hand-picked and purchased in smaller quanitites, to ensure a good variation of colour and make certain our items are either unique, or produced in very small quantities, so you won’t find too many people walking around with your item. Besides leatherwork, there is a small of range props, also available through the webhop. Larp safe latex weapons are also offered, as a reseller of several British brands, at select events (see album here in FB for current stock).

New hood! More bees!
One more bee design that I am working on, which should finish today. It has resulted in a big stack of bee and wolf half fabricates, that I can finish at a later point and finally restock.

Crafting a new batch of deluxe leather belts and working on a whole lot of bottle holders with bees and wolves!
Here is a video of the process for crafting my vegetable tanned leather belts, by hand, using all hand powered tools and elbow grease.
I am nearly out of stock for my regular sized belts, but there are still a good amount of double belts left in the Etsy shop.

Shop drop time!
I am hard at work in the workshop. Hopefully I can finish 2 more custom orders today and then 2 more next week.
In the meantime I am also working on stock and have some new fabric pouches available for immediate dispatch + some new patches.

The belt restock is coming along nicely as well, but now taking a short break from them for the weekend and prioritising some custom requests.

Lots of stuff happening, so read on!

1 final clearance mystery bag available, in a cyberpunk misfit theme, for 150 euro!

The open shop days provided me with a chance to take stock and I decided to create 1 final clearance bag to clear some older stock at a very special price.
This time though, it has a theme, as it is not your average medieval fantasy loot that you can expect. There is also even more loot in there than normal, so over 50% extra!
If you were looking for a holster for your nerf, some sci fi and cyberpunk accessories and have some odds and ends added, this is the bag for you!

There are also 2 medieval fantasy type clearance bags left, a 50 euro and 200 euro one.

So, other stuff happening!
I have been working on various custom orders, finished several and hoping to finish 2 more this week.

At the same time, it was brought to my attention that I no longer had any wolf mini banners left!
This was quickly remedied.

My stock on bee themed items was also running low, so working to remedy that as well, but it will take a moment.

And on top of all of that, my luxury belts were suddenly going very quickly and I only have 1 regular length belt left!

Work on a belt restock has started, in the meantime there are still several double belts available!

Slowly picking up work again.
Working on multiple custom orders and decided to pick up an old project again to finish + bees, as I am nearly out of bee themed items.
The 2 hoods were custom orders.

The workshop is my own again!
New flyers came in and a little surprise for my volunteers at the stall.
I hope you guys will like them.

At the moment I am taking it slow though, having had issues with my head for the past week. So doing some embroidery in the background and catching up on current affairs (it has reminded me how much I actually enjoy reading up on these sort of thing properly).

Thank you to everyone who visited during Cakes & Crafts!
It's time to pack it all up again.
Just before the open shop days, I finished several hoods and capelets.

Stuff! Ok, slowly getting back on track again.
Kim ripped his trousers during the moots, so I fixed them with some embroidery!
Also crafted some last minute sword hooks as the shop they were originally ordered from, couldn't deliver on them.
And finally I have my sewing machine back in the workshop and I have started prep for Cakes & Crafts, which will be happening this weekend!

There is a question box running on Insta for Cakes & Crafts, upcoming weekend, where you can drop suggestions for Kim on what he should consider baking.
Of course you can also comment below with your suggestion.

Also went to Militracks this weekend and picked up some awesome loot, both personal and for the shop!

The shovels will be used in future adventurer backpacks and some of the Vickers bags will be added to the stall, as I think they would work well within larp too!

Open shop days on 23, 24 and 25th of May in Apeldoorn!

You can visit the workshop in its new set up.
All stock will be on display for browsing and shopping.
A selection of leather crafting materials will be for sale.
Kim is baking cakes and other delicacies.
Coffee and tea provided.
The option to discuss custom order requests.
Try on and pre order Bard Manufactory shoes.

I do not need to know the exact day, but it would be good to gauge some numbers for the amount of baked goodies.
Also, I need a minimum amount of attendance to set it all up, so drag all of your friends along as well!

Back from the moots hosted by Vortex Adventures!
Thank you for a lovely weekend and to everyone who came by the stall. We were super lucky with the weather!
