Barbwire & Roses Handmade leather items for larp, cosplay, film, theatre, reenactment and costume. Barbwire & Roses is a small company that creates handmade leather items.

It is operated mostly as a ready-made items shop, with ready to ship stock. The webshop can be found at: barbwireandroses.etsy.com

Bespoke items are also an option, but slots are severly limited for completely custom items. Variations on existing designs are also possible and are generally easier to fit into the work schedule. All items are designed and created within the workshop in Apeldoorn,

only for very large orders, an extra pair of hands may be employed, but under close scrutiny, to ensure quality levels. All leather is hand-picked and purchased in smaller quanitites, to ensure a good variation of colour and make certain our items are either unique, or produced in very small quantities, so you won’t find too many people walking around with your item. Besides leatherwork, there is a small of range props, also available through the webhop. Larp safe latex weapons are also offered, as a reseller of several British brands, at select events (see album here in FB for current stock).

Prepping for Heroes Dutch Comic Con with some promotion layouts!
Also working on an amazon armour and an Astarion inspired jacket.
The big question though, how should I finish it?
A. As close as possible to the game version? This is the most expensive option.
B. Just finish as a lovely fantasy style jacket (the lowest cost and easiest option).
C. My own take on a still clearly inspired Astarion jacket, taking liberties.

Also finished 2 scrollcases with a bee design and 3 cute little dice bags.

Last minute crafting for Roll Initiative Con with some black chonk holders in the making.
Looks like I might be hosting some leathercrafting workshops tomorrow at the event as one of the planned workshops unfortunately had to drop out.
Would you prefer to craft a small leather dice bag?
Or would you prefer to craft a chonk holder?

Also a new concept for the winter months!
Come craft with me?

You get use of the workshop, workshop machines and a selection of tools + you get personal guidance from me.

It costs 300 euro a day.
Saturday or Sunday costs 500 euro.
10:00-17:00
Max. 3 people (you can split the 300/500 amongst yourselves)
Materials not included, bring your own and there is a limited amount for sale at location.

Contact me to discuss a date if interested.

It also looks like I might be hosting some leathercrafting workshops tomorrow at the RinCon as one of the planned workshops unfortunately had to drop out.

Big oops + a new stock item!

Check out these new chonk holders, I will bring them to Roll Initiative Con and to Heroes Dutch Comic Con (if any are left).
They are 15 euro each.

Also, oops! Went shopping with one of my suppliers amd brought ba k way more than I had planned.
They had an amazing offer, becauae they needed to make space and had tons of really good bag leather with croc print (which is normally much more expensive) and also a nice selection of lammy (for amazingly warm larp hoods).
Also received my order of Italian leather on top of that...
No more shopping for me for quite a while.

It's incredibly therapeutic though.

Prepping for Roll Initiative Con that will be happening this weekend in Ewijk.
There is a 10% off all shoulder bags during the event!
Also, a free miniature offer with your purchase, no minimum spend required (but only 1 per customer).
My stall space will be a lot smaller, so if there is something in particular that you want to see or want me to bring, let me know!

Prepping for Roll Initiative Con with an added little destash of RPG books.
They are individually priced, but I will also have a get 4, pay only 3 offer on them.
Should I bring them to Heroes Dutch Comic Con as well? Last time there wasn't much interest in older RPG books.

Had a rough week with a migraine attack and then the day after, had acupuncture treatment on top, so that properly kicked me in the butt. Have been taking it slow.

The Tzimisce clan logo embroidery design is getting there. The Malkavian embroidery design is in test stitch out phase, but proving to be rather fickle. There is 1 bit I genuinely do not understand yet, but will try to compensate and keep testing and hopefully it will work eventually. Doing the extra test runs just takes a lot of time and embroidery thread (almost 4 hours for a perfect run through stitch out, which of course doesn't happen, so add some hours). I will pick up the clan logo project again next week.

It's that time of year again!
I still have a handful of slots left on the big larp advent calendar and the smaller DnD calendars are ready to ship!
Next events are Roll Initiative Con and Heroes Dutch Comic Con, where you can also pick them up.

Well that was an amazing Vortex Adventures event!
They went all out on lasers, flames, coordinated music waves, smoke machines and a very cool prop by Frivolous Engineering, very, very cool! It felt like I was transported through the mists of Ravenloft or found myself in Stranger Things' upside down.
Here are some photos, including a 'by night' shop pic, which I loooove!
Also very happy that the shorter larp spears from blackforge_fx all passef the safety check with flying colours.

Moving onto some 'by night', I am working hard on the Vampire Dark Ages clan logos.
The test stitch out for the Nosferatu went well and is now ready to be embroidered on a banner for my local vampire larp.
The first Malkavian test stitch out is currently running, but it takes 3 hours and 40 minutes... if it runs perfectly, which it won't.
Lastly, I am also making great progress on the Tzimisce clan logo.

Once that one is done and the alternative Ventrue logo is also done. I will make sure to also create the medium versions that fit bottle holders for the various clans, Brujah, Toreador, alternative Tremere and Gangrel should already be done in that size format.

It's important to support your local games that you play at, or in my case trade at. These games are often run by volunteers and most definitely do not do it for the money.
Although I might not make much annually, my skills do allow me to support in a hopefully significant way, that would otherwise cost them a lot, financially speaking.
I have just finished embroidering 3 tabards that came from the outlet for the upcoming moots of Vortex Adventures
The idea is that these would make for a nice little NPC encounter group, colour coded and super easy and quick to add to a crew member's base layers.
When donating, I try to keep things generic enough, last time it was a stab safe mage staff.
If people are interested in getting some group tabards embroidered for their player group or NPC monster crew, let me know to see what ww can work out!
Non profit larp organisations tend to get a small discount, it's important to support the hobby.
