Honour your spirit. In Māori and Pasifika culture we are used to honouring our elders, our whānau, our iwi, our people, our community that we forget to honour ourselves. There is so much beauty in honouring our spirit. It allows us to honour all the parts of ourselves that make us who we are and connect deeper in our hononga (connections) with others. Being open with yourself and your wairua (spirit) is the true rongoa (medicine).

Kua hoki ki te kainga. As a Māori it meant the world for our whānau to return to our home, to our turangawaewae. This was my first time going back to my Nan’s marae and for many of us Māori who have been disconnected to our haukainga it was a great reminder that our whakapapa and our marae and our iwi will be there for us when we are ready. For those on their journey of reconnecting me maumahara na te manea o a tātou matua tipuna ka arahina i a mātou te hoki ki te kainga. 🖤❤️🤍

Arohanunui ki tōku whānau Haapu me Wiari. Ko te iwi o Ngāti Raukawa e ngunguru nei.

Maringi noa ngā roimata. I write this with tears in my eyes! This week I have never felt so proud to be Māori. From the hīkoi to parliament, to tearing up the bill, to hosting the very first all Māori lineup with our collective. Seeing the joy of every Māori who came to Boiler Room Aotearoa was everything, the haki (flags), the fits, the signs, the energy we have as Māori. Te ataahua hoki! Arohanui to all our performers, artists and activators .jax .aotearoa.native.again_ ,our special guests and Matua Pita for opening the space. Nui ake te mihi kia koutou te iwi Māori! Keep an eye out on we have one last surprise for you 🖤❤️🤍

Ko te iwi Māori e ngunguru nei! I au au aue hā!

24 hours of flying from London to Aotearoa, a quick shower and straight to Ihumātao with my mum and my sister. It was so beautiful to see so many Māori together celebrating our Māoritanga and many Tangata Tiriti (Non-Māori) supporting with signs and flags rolling hard for te iwi Māori. Ngā mihi kia koutou.

If you are in London, will be running an activation next week at the NZ embassy.

For those who aren’t able to attend any of the protests in Aotearoa are also collecting funds to support those attending with kai, inu etc.

We have this saying in Te Reo Māori; ma pango, ma whero, ka oti te mahi. With black and with red the job will get done. In other words if we all work together, we will get to our final goal.

Today I honour my ancestors, I honour my Māoritanga, I honour my iwi (tribes) of Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Rangi, Ngāti Tuwharetoa, Ngāti Rangi, Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga me Te Atihaunui-a-Pāpārangi. Sunday morning marked the beginning of Hikoi mo te Tiriti, March for the Treaty. Today I urge all non-Māori to join the march and support your Māori friends and whānau.

For those who follow me that are from other parts of the world, our government in Aotearoa introduced a controversial and damaging Treaty Principles Bill. This divisive Bill is an attempt to nullify our founding document Te Tiriti o Waitangi which protects our rights as Māori to our way of life, our land, our foreshore and seabeds, our waterways, our culture, our language and above all else our right to self determination and tino rangatiratanga absolute sovereignty.

I am so proud to be Māori and I was blessed to grow up learning my language and being surrounded by my culture day in and day out. I want this for our next generation, we want our tamariki (children) to grow up in a society where their culture is celebrated, where their language is celebrated, where they are celebrated.

My karakia go out to all who have begun marching at Rerenga Wairua this morning and those who will be joining. In our language we have this saying, nā to rourou, nā tōku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi – with your basket and my basket the people will thrive.

For all information retaining to the march please follow

He mana Māori motuhake, he mana tuku iho e! Toitū te Tiriti! 🖤❤️🤍

UK and Netherlands it’s time! 🚀 My winter tour kicks off this weekend, and I’m bringing the heat one last time before 2025! Be quick though as most shows are sold out ✨ only Bristol & Amsterdam have tickets available if you want to see yours truly!

Big love to the Queen herself whose album ‘New Amerykah Part 2’ inspired this artwork, and to the talented for always coming in clutch with visuals.

Let’s make these final European shows unforgettable before I head to Asia for the next part of the winter world tour. 🌍🎧🔥 Who’s coming and ready to dance?

I cannot stress the importance of having indigenous voices, black and brown voices, diverse voices in your boardrooms, in high positions and on your panels. Visibility matters. Representation matters. Climate justice matters. Indigenous people make up approximately 5% of the world’s population and protect over 80% of the world’s bio diversity. Our people have the answers, because they deal with the reality of climate change everyday. Book us, fund us, put us on your lineups. We deserve to be in these spaces and not just one of us. All of us

Fakafetai lahi, Mauruuru, Malo ‘Aupito, Fa’afetai Lava, Ngā mihi nui and thank you for allowing to share and represent my people, our islands and our moana.
