The Walker Family Band

For over a decade The Walker Family Band has delighted audiences throughout the Southeast with a distinctive take on traditional styles.

They perform Irish dance music and songs and American old time music with a forward reaching attitude. We are a band, a family band, with a passion for writing music and perfoming it! We are sometimes and extended family, and we love it that way! We are all mostly teachers, and we run a fiddle workshop every summer. Check our web sight for details!!

Here we are at Carolyn Tobin's birthday party, this past spring.
Here is Jennie with our new Asheville friends, Paula Akbar in pink and Laura Boswell with the long hair. This was before a Black Mountain Center for the Arts concert last year.
That is Jennie and I performing with the Blue Ridge Orchestra this spring.
Here we are playing for a big group at the Chapel at Warren Wilson College, also with the Blue Ridge Orchestra!
