Unfortunately I will not be attending the vendor show at The Vintage Rose Barn on Sunday May 22. We have recently opened a restaurant in Albion, MI where we live and I'm in the process of deciding if 2022 will be my last year. I don't know what the future holds, so am not taking any bookings until I know for sure.

Please check out Rust Belt Ramen and come get a bowl of ramen or Japanese curry next time you're in the Albion area!

I am thrilled to announce that Sunny Sky Events is a preferred vendor for The Vintage Rose Barn, just west of Kalamazoo in Gobles, MI. You can get married outside under a huge black walnut tree and chandelier, then dance the night away in the barn or on the attached deck. One of the major perks of this venue is their decor basement. You will likely find the vast majority of decor to make your event personalized and beautiful and not have to spend extra money or deal with reselling. Happy 2022! I'm so excited for this year's weddings and look forward to bringing my couples' dreams to life. Here are some of things that I do as a Wedding Coordinator:
--Timeline development for the rehearsal day and day of the wedding.
--Vendor confirmations, setting myself as the point of contact for all vendors.
--Organizing your rehearsal and cueing everyone down the aisle.
--Setup of all decor and tear down at the end of the night.
--Keeping the entire day on schedule and making sure your vendors are working as a team.
--Bringing an extensive emergency kit in case you need new shoelaces, band aids or a hot glue gun, among many other things.
--Solving any issues that come up so you can relax and enjoy the day with your friends and family.

Think of me as the stage director for your wedding. I'll figure out what you want and make it come to life. I love my job and hope I get to work with you!

Merry Christmas everyone! We are enjoying the holiday in FL with family and I'll be honest--I don't really like it. I miss the crispness of a Christmas Morning and seeing the stars thru my breath on Christmas Eve. So good to be with family though.

It's the Tuesday before a wedding, so that means I will be doing vendor confirmations today! I establish contact with all of your other vendors to answer questions, go over the timeline and set myself up as their point of contact for future questions. This allows me to handle all of the details while you relax and enjoy the week with family and friends.

Back in June, I did a wedding outside Lansing where we had a CRAZY rainstorm during the reception. We're talking golf ball sized hail and hurricane force winds. It was nuts. But the sky afterward made some pretty amazing pictures. Check this one out! Congrats again Katy and Pete!

I love watching a groom see his bride for the first time. When I attended weddings as a guest, I never watched the bride come down the aisle, but always turned to see the groom. The look on JT's face when he saw Heather for the first time at their July 3 wedding is perfection. Their photographer just posted pics and the preview video on their blog so you can check it out for yourself!

Angela and Zac from Fantasy did an amazing job capturing the details, the joy and the love at this at home wedding. It was great to work with them!

Congratulations to Megan and Brady who were married in a gorgeous ceremony yesterday on family property. And shout out to the great family they belong to--they work so hard to make everything perfect for these weddings and it shows! I was fortunate enough to get to know them in June 2021 for a wedding and will see them again in June 2022 for another wedding--all on the same property.

The day was so hot, but full of love and laughter and beautiful things that reflect the couple. A homemade fountain in the pond for the ceremony backdrop, a barefoot bride all day, an entrance competition for parents and bridal party, their 3 month old niece as a flower girl (carried by her mom who even scattered petals!), a hilarious father/daughter dance that had tons of different songs and dances, cakes made by the bride's aunt, an uncle who officiated the wedding, a cigar bar for the groom and an anniversary dance with the longest couple dancing to their first dance song since yesterday was their 51st anniversary. It was beautiful and I am so thankful to have been a part of it.

Congrats to Blake and Kara who were married last weekend at the beautiful Rustic Escapes in Albion, MI. The setting was perfect for their elegant rustic wedding! Her dad and uncle surprised her with a song during the toast that made nearly everyone tear up. It was a great day and I wish you many years of love!

Congratulations to Heather and JT who were married yesterday, July 3, 2021! After a date change and venue change, the 55 person celebration took place at her parents' lake home outside Kalamazoo. They were married by the same pastor who married her parents 14 years and 3 days prior in the same spot. The incredible vendor team brought together all of the details and it was a fabulous day!

Congrats to Pete and Katy who were married in this gorgeous setting on Saturday! Not only did they have to delay their celebration to this year due to Covid, but we dealt with a crazy rainstorm during the rehearsal on Friday and another on Saturday during the reception that included golf ball sized hail and hurricane force (not confirmed, but they were crazy!) winds. Everyone regrouped, we did toasts with a karaoke machine while the DJ dried out his equipment and the party kept going with smiles and laughter all around!

Three years ago, my husband's best friend got married. That morning, I stepped in to help with the rehearsal and the ceremony, having already planned to help with setup. Halfway thru the reception, I told my husband I was restarting my business when we moved to MI from WY at the end of 2018. He was in full support and I've had so much fun helping couples have beautiful weddings. So thankful for this job and how much I still love it. Happy Anniversary Jeff and Annie!

Happy Anniversary to Sarah and Buster, who were married on May 4, 2019! They are huge Star Wars fans and chose May 4th as the perfect date for their themed wedding. I love weddings that reflect the couple and this one definitely did!

Check out these dreamy boho details from a recent wedding. The bride made all of the centerpieces and floral pieces herself! The pampas grass was the perfect touch and all ceremony decor was moved to the reception space to do double duty there.

Happy Anniversary to Chris and Carly who were married overlooking the Pacific Ocean two years ago! They had a beautiful wedding and their reception was full of memories of them. Wedding planning (and coordinating) from a distance can be tricky, but with lots of planning, we were prepared for all snags. Ask me how to help make your wedding day as stress free as possible!

Happy Valentine's Day all! On this day in 2020, I stood in a snowy field in Alaska while my best friend got married! While my husband performed the ceremony, I held a cell phone broadcasting the elopement to Facebook live and got to see all of the comments pop up as people realized what was happening. Such a fun wedding!

I'm a sucker for cheesy rom coms and was definitely looking forward to the latest To All The Boys movie, Always and Forever, which released today. There was a beautiful song in it that would be perfect for a first dance or some other time in a wedding. What do you think?
